Best halls for University of Brighton?

I might be taking an illustration course at UoB staring in September 2019. My course will be at the city campus and the closest halls are Phoenix Brewery. However I've heard that Varley park halls are a better social experience, any advice?
Our accommodation allocation policy does link the City Campus to Phoenix for halls allocations, but you can add different preferences and let us know why you would prefer them on your application. We can't guarantee you will get your first choice but we try to match as many people as possible. Varley Park is a lot bigger than Phoenix so that might be why you've heard it's more sociable. Varley has around 800 rooms and Phoenix has c.300.

Phoenix is a lot closer to your study site,so you would be able to walk to lectures, at Varley you'd need to get the shuttle bus. Phoenix is also a lot closer to town so if your socialising is going to involve going out in town, Phoenix might be better. There some more info about nightlife in this thread

Also, our applications don't close til 30th June, and there's no advantage to applying early, so you've got plenty of time to choose
