there is a large crossover between mechanics and physics. on a venn diagram the intersection of statistics and physics would be empty.

it depends on your own individual talents.
Mechanics would be more complimentary to physics.

Do you mean statistics or mechanics? There is no option to do 'statics' as it is part of mechanics.
