Amazon helps out in the stabbing crisis

In the grip of a national crisis of murder by stabbing, it's good to see the major online players doing their bit. Here for example is Amazon offering an attractive range of designer lethal weapons for every taste in a range of appealing colours and styles.

You have to laugh that Amazon demand a signature to prove that you are over 18 to collect one of these.

How long I wonder would it take the government to rush through a ban on selling these things online and what difference would that make to the crisis almost immediately? It's almost as if our government had some kind of weak, toadying relationship to the online giants.

Maybe they use training knives and guns in training?
I think a bigger issue is the way Amazon treats it's staff and avoids tax. They're a leech.

True, but it's also a big (and not reported) story that Amazon are making money out of the current knife mania and the people making it are lolling in comfort in safe mansions in California smugly claiming it's all part of the correct libertarian world view.

It's way overdue that these companies be brought under proper legislative control.

If they didn't use these particular knives they'd use some other knives.We can't ban all sharp instruments.If it's not these knives it will be kitchen knives or screwdrivers or baseball bats or sharp pencils if they are really desperate.The issue isn't the selling of knives.Normal people need knives to cut stuff.The issue is gang's and deprivation in those areas where gang's are prevalent.If you address the underlying issues then you'll solve the problem.Banning the selling of knives is a superficial fix which does nothing to address the actual problems.
Because the only purpose of a knife is to stab someone...

If the answer to the shanking epidemic was waiving Amazon's Corporate Tax liability I'd go with that.

Some people like collecting knives, some people like to twirl around a balisong (although they look like idiots) some people have uses for them, I certainly found it useful having a few different knives when I was doing all my hobby stuff, some people just want one.

As for guns they are very fun and relaxing, plinking down at a range is often quite peaceful and takes a lot of skill and concentration to hit far away targets with good precision, collecting them is also fun too.

Funny thing is I could go to my local tesco and get a knife better than these ones, I could even go to my local camping store and get something better, hell I could even go downstairs and have enough knives for the rest of my life.
Lol. You make it seem as if it is Amazon's problem that people are using their service to purchase tools they then utilise as weapons.

But, yes, yes! More banning, more censorship, more removal of rights of ownership of resources because bad apples are using their variations to harm others. Yep. Now, they can go traditional and use the knives they stole from their parents' kitchen to murder one another. Or maybe they can go back and use their hands like in the old days. Or maybe fireworks, or torches, or acid, or pushing one another off a cliff.

Probably **** all to be honest. :lol:

If knives were made illegal at great inconvenience to the majority of the population, then these teenagers would get knives illegally or just use something else (e.g. scissors, glass, bricks).
