S1 Boxplot diagram where to put the whiskers?

When we draw a boxplot diagram how many units far from the outliers do we put the whiskers? Like over how do we know we're supposed to put them there in those exact positions?

You work out the outliers and put crosses. The look to see the next value - lower whisker is 22 and the other is 37.

Aren't the ends of the box plot the outliers and the crosses the whiskers?
Also why is that right end on 37? Why not 38?

No, the whiskers are the lines outside the box - there isn't a 38 in the list of values.

So the outliers are the crosses and whiskers the ends?

Yes, the outliers are marked by crosses and the whiskers end at the point before the outliers

Yes the outliers are the x and I call the whole line the 'whisker'.[think of a cat's whiskers]
