Have you registered to vote?

The UK will participate in the European Parliament elections on 23rd May. Are you over 18 and already registered to vote?

UPDATE: If you haven't registered yet you need to do it TODAY (deadline midnight tonight)! You can also register for a postal vote if you won't be at your address on polling day.

Note, EU citizens living in the UK *can* vote in EUparl elections (unlike for the Referendum).

To register, go to:
https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

To see the results of the 2014 EUparl elections check this:
http://www.europarl.europa.eu/unitedkingdom/en/european-elections/european_elections/results.html

EU elections are on a party list basis and uses proportional representation, so your vote *is* important.

Not a good reason...

CAN I REMOVE MY DETAILS FROM THE ELECTORAL REGISTER?
You can remove yourself from the open register (the register that is available for general sale) at any time by contacting your local electoral registration office.

I've been a voter for years and get no "debty letters" - I'm not on the open register.
Yup registered a few months back

Aye, I've put it on closed a few times. Coming back from uni and then going back. Suddenly I get letters ... Perhaps it relies on the competence of the local authority.

Yes, I have registered to vote. I intend to vote for Labour but I only care about Seb Dance MEP getting re-elected.

Unless he's top of the London Labour list there's no guarantees...

I heard on sky news that the MEP's get paid 320 euros per day, is that true?

He's second on the list of the London Labour MEP candidates list so I'd say there's a good chance.

I do think unless JC unequivocally supports a 2nd Ref (and freedom of movement) he risks losing a lot of votes to Remain parties.

I think so too and if he did that he would alienate large amounts of his own party particularly in the north of England, for the more important elections to follow.
I'm 14, so no

They get €8,800 per month (£7600). This is a bit higher than a Westminster MP (£6700).
