Seasonal?
- The pop up cinema market can be seen as very seasonal depending on its features.
- If it’s an outside cinema you would want it to be nice and warm (summer and spring)
- If in an indoor place, it would not be seasonal
- Higher demand in summer as most pop up cinemas are outdoors.
Is the market growing or shrinking?
- Growing
- Unique and a lot of variety
- Customers are treated well and they are good quality

Swot Analysis
Strengths

1. Experienced and trained Staff to meet high standards of customer service

2. Gold class service offers a unique experience compared to our competitors

3. A range of services are available to the customers to fulfill an overall satisfying experience which is unique within the industry

4. Other means of making money; not only the movies, but also food, drinks, services and hiring

5. Pricing strategy enables a range of customers to engage in the experience within their levels of income

Children

Concession

Elderly

Family Passes

6. Location of this outdoor cinema offers the developing areas a chance to be exposed to activities that they do not have to drive a large distance for

7. New company brings an exciting new adventure that people haven't been exposed to before

8. Seating arrangements are comfortable and customisable to suit the individual

9. Online booking services

10. Less time spent on building the outdoor cinema than the inside one

Weaknesses

1. Price is more expensive than an in-door cinema- unique experience so people don't mind paying a bit more

2. High set-up costs- cover that in the future

3. High level of 'red tape' to clarify from authorities

4. Traffic congestion as all of the customers will be arriving and leaving at the same time- separate entry and exits, have staff directing traffic to ensure quick and safe movement of people and cars

5. Reputation- our company has not got an established brand or reputation as it is new, therefore it is very risky- establish a good reputation using marketing

6. Limited number of people who can view each screening due to site size- book advance online to avoid disappointment

Opportunities

1. Lack of competition- There are no other outdoor movie cinemas in the vicinity

2. Broad target market, can account for irregular visits from specific groups of people

3. Increased disposable income in todays economy, therefore people are willing to engage in these types of attractions and activities

4. High recent movie attendance- Recent surveys have shown that there are a larger number of people who are going to movie cinemas and restaurants, as opposed to shopping centers

5. Loyalty programs encourage repeat customers

Threats

1. Weather conditions that prevent the customers opportunity to watch movies- allowed cars to come in winter to convert to drive in, hiring of pillows and blankets and car visor to overcome possibility of rain

2. Competing cinemas (both outdoor and indoor)- offered unique experience with gold class, competitive prices

3. Restrictive licenses if the 'red tapes' are not approved by authorities

- Police may receive noise complaints

- Alcohol restrictions and duty of care for the provision of alcohol- own responsibility

- Movie screening licensing

- Number of cars in a given area restrictions
I wouldn't use event cinemas as it is Australian and the brief says only the uk. this information could be useful but its an Australian comapny

Market size, share and structure:

The Cinemas industry includes all operators that show films in designated film-projection facilities. These are mostly indoors, but some are open-air facilities. The bulk of industry revenue comes from box office sales, the majority of which are generated by blockbuster films. UK cinemas also generate revenue from screen advertising and selling drinks and snacks. The industry has grown moderately over the five years through 2018-19, as the average spend per visit has increased. Overall, industry revenue is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 2.6% over the five years through 2018-19.

Cinema seats filled are at their highest in 40 years. Over-45s were the largest proportion of UK cinema audience (36% of the total, up from 28%) and young people (oddly grouped in the category 15-24) down from 31% in 2011 to 25%. The UK film industry's direct contribution to UK GDP in 2011 was £3.8 billion.

There is a growing trend toward cinema-as-event where film screenings are augmented by synchronous live performance, site-specific locations, technological interventions, social media engagement, and all manner of simultaneous interaction including singing, dancing, eating, drinking, even smelling. Technologically, the industry has multiplied as a result of the rapid advancement of “pop-up” screen. This enables screenings to take place in locations that have previously been inaccessible, such as Hampton Court Palace, Kew Gardens or an obscure warehouse rooftop. The cinema industry are facing threats to traditional forms of revenue generation due to the easy access offered by the internet. So have turned their attention to the attraction of events as an alternative. The film industry has also expanded in response to the public’s love for nostalgia and the power of fan engagement many events tend to revolve around “old” and well-loved film releases.

Target market:

Trends:

External influences:

The Cinemas industry is estimated to be in the growth phase of its economic life cycle, as it is growing at a significantly faster rate than the overall economy. Industry value added, a measure of the industry’s contribution to the wider economy, is expected to increase at a compound annual rate of 3.9% over the 10 years through 2023-24. UK real GDP is forecast to grow at a compound annual rate of 1.7% over the same period. There have been some changes in industry products in recent years. The development of digital screens and 3-D films has contributed to industry growth in the past few years. These new product segments have resulted in increased patronage and new revenue streams

How do you know that it is a brand new company???
what would trends by for pop up cinemas
all use which have been saying competition is things like normal cinemas are not going down the right line, use need to look at things like Lunas Cinema, and NOMAD and stuff like that for compeition. but to make it easier if you type in about "POPUP Pearl & Dean" they are a business which focus on all the pop up cinema businesses and are in connection with them all so you can write about how they are in the market share quite drastically so you may need to rather find a new unique selling point or to try gain communication to them when your businesses brand awarness is increasing.
But I mean also I would write about things in PESTLE legal section on how they need public liability insurance, and how they need to have communication to get the rights to show the movie
