Why is the UK still in Eurovision, what about Brexit?

Naturally the above was the BBC's answer helpful much?

The reason the UK doesn't have to leave Eurovision is because we are part of the EBU

quote from the Sun newspaper explaining why...

https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/3543074/uk-allowed-eurovision-song-contest-brexit-theresa-may/

“The EBU, which is totally independent of the EU, includes countries both inside and outside of the EU, and also includes countries such as Israel that are outside of Europe.

SOOO...

Who's excited? :woo:

Eurovision's Selected entries so far 27/02/2019
So, I just had my first proper listen through the entries so far this year, here are my top 5:
1.Romania
2.Belgium
3.Portugal
4.Czech Republic
5.Latvia, France, Denmark and Italy can battle it out for 5th position

Semi-Final 1 is shaping up to be.......tight!
I feel that Italy, Portugal and Hungary might work against each other due to similar-ish darker tones in the music but who can say!!!

Yeah I've noticed that too - I don't think there's as many group acts as there used to be anyway :frown:

I imagine we will be bottom 5 this year. With brexit and our song being terrible :huff:
Italy 🇮🇹 And Iceland 🇮🇸 are my go tos this year. Tho I like Switzerland 🇨🇭, Hungary 🇭🇺 and a few others too. Rip Ukraine 🇺🇦 tho 😭. Maruv's song is quality.

Looking forward to doing the votes again this year

First place betting too risky? Last place no problem
Ikr. Some other tv station should have a go. If ITV hosted it instead of BBC they could use X Factor in a similar way they use Melodifestivalen which is Sweden's almost equivalent (I think?). Then the winner of X Factor could have the opportunity of going to Eurovision if they so wish.

San Marino is a bop! My Boi Serhat coming through haha 😂

I've stanned Italy religiously since 2017 (and 2015 too). When I saw Mahmoods performance during Sanremo I knew it was special. I just hope the Juries don't screw over Italy like they have done for the last 2 years. The lyrics are great too.

Yeah, but I did an EW bet so it's a bit less risky. I fully expect to lose my money though.

I'm loving Norway's song more and more! That joik. :coma:

M88 I'm still salty about Francesco not winning in 2017 😭😭 honestly my 2nd fave song from the ESC. Gabbani is one artist I have grown to love post-ESC too. Defo check out Magellano. That album is a masterpiece and introduced me to the sound of Italian pop ❤️🇮🇹
My top 10 this year is:

1. Cyprus
2. Italy
3. Iceland
4. Azerbaijan
5. Switzerland
6. Sweden
7. Armenia
8. North Macedonia
9. Russia
10. France

I’m still quite shocked that The Netherlands is the favourite to win with the bookies. It’s a great song (my #11) but I don’t really think it would be a good winner.

I also don’t think we’ll do too bad this year. I think we’ll get a decent jury result but a poor televote result (like we did in 2017).
