Is it possible to study another degree in UAL after graduated from the current course

So my question is,

is it possible to apply for another BA course in UAL after graduating from the current BA course?

or we can only proceed to MA if we want to continue our study?

P.S I am an international student and I worry about the visa policy and stuff also.

There's nothing to prevent you applying for a second degree there in theory, however you will still need to apply in open competition with school leavers etc for a place. You will also need to pay fees again, and there is even less funding available for students doing a second degree (doubly so I imagine for international students).

I don't know about the visa side of things though; particularly if you would be leaving the country before reapplying, this might cause some difficulties potentially. Obviously there are also considerations about whether it's worth it (particularly given the enormous fees involved for international students) to do a second bachelors instead of doing a masters in another area.

What area is your first (or current) degree in, and what area are you hoping to move into with this second degree? It may be possible for you to directly apply to a masters in that other area and hence "convert" to that area, depending on how well your first degree would prepare you for that kind of work.

So I am actually doing a fashion design ba course in london college of fashion and I would like to try applying for central saint martins ba fashion course after I graduated because I have always wanted to study fashion in csm so much. But I don't know if it is possible for an international student to apply a second degree in the same university...

Applying for the same course is another matter entirely. I doubt they'd be as receptive to that, because you'll have covered much of the core material anyway; you already have the knowledge required to create anything you might make at CSM in a BA. I'd suggest you focus on applying to a masters degree there if you want to study there, and developing your portfolio besides.

Doing the same degree again at another university isn't going to make much if any difference to either your prospects or your development as a designer. If anything, employers might look at the fact you have two degrees in the same area and wonder why you weren't able to be accepted onto a relevant masters, or whether you really have the necessary experience to be employable and if you are just an "eternal student" unfit for employment.

Darling . BA fashion @ csm isn’t that special . You should apply to the MA ! I know for a fact that Fabio ( course leader of MA FASHION AT CSM ) takes people from lcf . So apply to the MA . If you didn’t get in I would do a graduate diploma fashion course in CSM for a year then apply again to the MA . Both courses are pretty strong but I wouldn’t repeat my BA just to be at CSM ... believe me it isn’t that special

my course is actually called fashion design and development, which is not specialised in womenswear or menswear
do you think it will affect my MA application? :frown:

Or they will just look into your portfolio and decide if they will accept you?

Hello, I hope you are well! My name is Zoe and I am a current student at Camberwell studying MA Printmaking.

I feel you would be ready to ready to develop on to masters! I feel doing another BA in the same area you will cover a lot of the same areas and studying a masters would be the next natural step up!

On masters at UAL we don't only take BA First class of upper seconds honours courses in Fashion we also take into consideration prior (Experiential) Learning. This might, for example, be demonstrated by: Related academic or work experience, the quality of the personal statement, a strong academic or other professional reference or a combination of these factors.

It may be really helpful for you to attend an open day at Central Saint Martins so you can see the facilities on offer to students, talk to current students and staff members who would be able to directly answer your questions! Here is the link;
