MEP candidate assaulted in UK

I do wonder what the opinion is of some of our TSR superstars.

Whatever your opinion of Tommy Robinson. He is a political candidate and criticism towards him is subjective. Which is why we don't encourage this behaviour in our public discourse as the end result is violence and the poisoning of our political system.

Avi Yemini made a very good point about this.
"To those who are celebrating attacks on TR, just remember, if this is your new accepted form of political discourse - don't complain when it smacks you in the face.
Tommy can handle himself, I doubt you will."

Yeah I don't think it was right for the man to do that... bit of a d*** move.

You conveniently omit to mention that one of people hospitalised with a broken nose allege that they were attacked by a Robinson supporter.

If Tommy Robinson was looking to avoid violent confrontation, he would hire professional security who have a sense of restraint and don't wildly swing their fists at people at the first opportunity. Instead he walks around with a thuggish entourage of cronies. If you watch some of the videos, when Robinson talks to people, his cronies encircle them. That's designed to intimidate. We can see videos of his cronies pushing and lashing out at people. We can see videos of his supporters verbally threatening people with violence. Only last month, Robinson turned up on a journalist's doorstep at night to intimidate him.

Robinson's background is in football hooliganism and the EDL. He has multiple criminal convictions, including for violence. He is not interested in serious political discourse. He thrives on this sort of confrontation and he knows what he is doing. Robinson headbutted someone because the man had a verbal disagreement with him. That a serious step up from having a milkshake thrown over you.

Having read some of your posts, I suspect you have far-right sympathies, so I understand why you are trying to defend him. It a common trope of the far-right to cast themselves as victims, as persecuted, as discriminated against, etc. Thankfully most people can see straight through this whining and can see Robinson for the nasty thuggish shite that he is.

One guy was arrested for calling am MP a nazi.
What has happened to the milkshake chucker?
Im no fan of Isis supporters etc but Tommy is a media slut, he loves it. This milkshake incident is more press for himself and that's what lights his spark. He looks for it.

Sadly the incident may actually gain him sympathy and more votes- hope he is not elected as an MEP.
Nobody comes out of this well. Robinson’s supporters look like a bunch of tits, and the milkshake tosser comes across as a bit of an idiot as well.

You also conveniently omit that this 'woman' Alice Edwards is a burly transexual in excess of 6ft tall and burly to an extent that's unbecoming of a woman. Also I'm wondering if that is the same Alice Smith mentioned here, arrested for child porn Offences. I'm not saying that changes the situation but if you look at some of the footage you can see her throw down all the same as the ones she is crying about.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5798945/Trans-women-convicted-men-attack-vulnerable-inmates.html

If you'd like to donate to Tommy's private security then I'm sure he'd be grateful, but it's expensive and if the intention is the protection of those who throw milkshakes at him, I'd call it a waste of money.

I've seen plenty of his content and I've never seen any of his supporters surrounding instigate the violence, they just react to it. I know he confronts journalists and I fully support it. If you write libellous statements you should be prepared to answer to them and back them up. He asks them questions, he never attacks them violently.

The phrase "far right sympathies" sounds like a bit of a joke if I'm honest. This isn't some kind of faction skirmish. We have a political system for a reason and everyone should be treated equally. I'm not here advocating for violence against my political enemies and I would condemn anyone who is violent towards them.

Will you do the same for your political opponents? It would appear not. I hope you get some principles one day and stick to them.

He was having an emotional argument with a protester. Of course, food/drink should never be thrown at others but it's understandable why this happened. His encounter with this man certainly wasn't a peaceful one even before the milkshake was thrown.

It's not the first time food has been thrown at a politician. Could have been eggs.
"TSR superstars" 😂
I can handle meself, son. Don't you worry about that.

I might not have convictions for GBH and a name from the Deathly Hallows, but I will fight ya dad and win.

Edit: not GBH, just common assault for attacking an off-duty copper and another one for headbutting a lad.

That Muslim milkshake gentleman did not come with an argument. He came up with his phone in Tommy's face. Started pushing him after pushing another woman and was confronted for it. I don't care about these so called emotions, they don't make violence all of a sudden acceptable.

The guy was laughing about it in the taxi later with his pals, and laughing because he wasn't arrested.

Do you have any footage of that happening?

Yes he has a thuggish nature about him, but can you really blame him? Consider the environment he's grown up in (have you ever been to Luton? It's not a nice place, at all). Consider too that ever since he has dared to dip his toes into politics, he is harrassed, threatened and physically attacked on a pretty regular basis, what exactly do want him to do? Not defend himself? Just allow himself to be beaten to pulp? Maybe you do want that...

I can't help but feel a lot of the rabid opposition to Tommy Robinson, particularly from the media is not really political based, but just pure classist snobbery. Is it that they don't like the fact that a rough, working class man has stepped too far above his place and is publicly questioning the current zeitgeist of the metropolitan elite? There are plenty of others in the public eye, journalists, writers, sitting MPs even, with the same political views as Tommy Robinson, but they don't recieve anywhere near the same level of flack.

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, to use his real name, doesn't just have a 'thuggish nature about him' - he is a thug. He has a conviction for assaulting a police officer who tried to intervene when Yaxley-Lennon was attacking his girlfriend. He also has a conviction for head butting a different man.

And you're the one being snobbish/classist - I live not a million miles away from Luton and have several friends who've grown up there. None of them have ever assaulted their partners, police officers or random strangers. Coming from Luton does not make you a rough person or a thug, and it's extremely patronising of you to suggest that it does.

That would be the same journalist, Mike Stutchbury who days prior revealed Tommy's own address to Antifa activist **** Coughlan by handing him court papers relating to a libel case against Tommy. Coughlan in turn proceed to livestream himself delivering the papers to Tommy's house and revealing his full address to the public. But of course it's not intimidation when Antifa do it.

Yeah, Tommy's reaction was stupid (the whole bloody situation on both sides was stupid from the start) but you can't say it wasn't provoked.

Can you provide a source for this? I know about the headbutting. He did that to a neo nazi at a rally. I can't find anything about the girlfriend hitting and assaulting police officer there. The only assault on police officer I saw was a very dubious accusation from barely touching a copper at another rally.

Either way, all of this is irrelevant to my original point which is that this shouldn't be our method of political discourse. Because if it is, many left wing politicians will have far more than milkshake to worry about.
