I did this:

1. Find r from the volume of the cylinder
2.sub it into the SA of the hemisphere and cylinder (-one circular face)
3. Add them together and I got 200cm^2 🤔

How is revision going?

How prepared are you right now?

What is your Wanted grade/Predicted grade?

If you want to discuss Paper 2 or Paper 3 do so here:

Paper 2: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=5874634

Paper 3: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=5874636

My revision is going awful.
I dont feel very prepared in any shape or form.
I would like 6/7 but at the moment that is highly unlikely.
Pls help
This is what i did
1.) find r the way you did
2.)sub into cyilinder SA to find it
3.)sub into sphere and divide by 2 as its half a sphere
4.) it said total surface area so i worked out area of the circle in the sphere
5.) then worked out area of the 2 circles in the cylinder
6.) add them together to get 347.83

But the circle on the sphere and one of the circles on the cylinder aren’t part of the surface area

What do you need help with?
1.) it said total surface area, the are of the hemisphere is only the curved surface area so you need to work out area of the circle at the bottom of it as well
2.) i added those areas as i was told the surface area was 348 so i assumed you had to add that to get 348
3.)we need @IsMo987 to sho the working out at the back of the book for that question

I feel like the answer in the book is wrong because you wouldn’t add internal surfaces into the surface area calculation

If anyone hasn't already seen the four Edexcel problem solving sets then I highly recommend having a look and trying the questions:

Set1
Set2
Set3
Set4
thats why we need the working out to justify it.

Got a grade 9 in maths last year so msg me if anyone needs help/wants some revision tips 😁
I use corbett maths alot as there are plenty of topic by topic resources: They have worksheets that correspond to videos and also mixed worksheets of various difficulties. Its worth checking out.
Update

If you haven't already, check out the predicted paper on Onmaths here: https://www.onmaths.com/mock_exams/edexcel-2019-paper-1-higher-prediction/
