Volunteering at festivals?

Hey so I made a thread recently on missing on Reading Festival with friends opting out. I’m planning on volunteering for it instead. The question I pose is this worth doing? Has anyone done this before, and is it easy to make friends doing this? I would be going alone, put this thread on here so more could see. Many thanks.
Can someone reply to this please, going to make a decision soon and ideally need someone’s experience on this to help me decide what to do.
These people have all volunteered at festivals so hopefully you will get a reply soon:

Perhaps read this thread while you wait:

Sorry for not being of more assistance as I've never volunteered but hopefully the links would have helped somewhat.

I volunteered at Glastonbury a few years ago. Everyone I worked with was really nice and easy to get along with and I managed to make a few friends. Admittedly I spent quite a lot of time wandering by myself which had its pros and cons. Pros specifically having the freedom to do whatever you want without friends moaning or wanting to see someone you don't etc. Cons obviously being you don't have anyone to share your experience with. All in all it was a positive experience and I'd recommend at least trying it. You'll be thankful for staff camping as well it's great.

Cheers for this, yeah the thing I’m worried about is being alone all the time so I’m hoping to strike up a friendly rapport with the other volunteers. It’s either doing this or regret not doing it because with the circle of friends I have I just can’t see them wanting to go to a festival tbh. Thanks for your response!
