It's great to hear you've firmed Reading for September!
I'm Emma and I'm a 3rd Year Undergraduate Chemistry student here at Reading. I'm also planning to go on to do a PGCE Seconday Science course when I graduate next year (I'm on a 4 year course, so will start ITT Sept 2020)!
Starting Uni can be super scary, I remember how I felt before I got here. However, the Uni is really friendly and it's a nice place to be, so I settled really quickly.

I hope you get to meet lots of other trainees using TSR, but if you've got any questions about Reading Uni, campus, accommodation, anything really, feel free to ask and I'll be happy to help.

Hi! I've recently graduated from City, uni of London and will be starting work as an SLT in Reading (royal Berkshire hospital) in August.
Do you have any advice about accomodation (e.g. websites to use/areas to avoid)? I don't really know much about Reading!
I'm female, 21 and my budget is around £550 pcm.

Hi ☺️ I also received an offer from Reading, and I am looking forward to hopefully studying Graphic Communication there soon! My first choice accommodation is Bridges, as it’s close to the Typography department. What about you ?

have you had a look on right move? or got in contact with any reading letting agencies?

Yes I've done so but I'm wondering is there any way to find people who are in a similar situation and link up? I would prefer to meet people first and then find a flat to move in together rather than moving in with strangers

Hi! depends on what you're looking for. quite? party life? catered? self catered? on campus? private?

I've applied for sherfield coz I wanted the quieter accommodation and I'm happy cooking for myself but refuse to share a bathroom

Hey! Definitely self catered and I'm the same with bathrooms aha. Would prefer a party life, probably a toss up at the moment of Benyon, St Georges and Sherfield. I suppose there are quiet areas and single gender areas in each so there would be areas where they aren't specifically quiet and mixed genders? Not against quiet areas but don't really want single genders. By the looks of it all the halls are on Whiteknights campus (?) which means a journey to London Road Campus regardless.

I’m terms of having your own bathroom, I was in Child’s for my first year which is a premium en-suite, and gives you the space to have quiet times but also socialise and experience the party side of university life. You can request a quiet area, although they aren’t guaranteed but I believe you can request it in any of the halls.

The London Road campus is only a short walk from the Park group accommodation. There is also a bus if you really wanted although I would say walking is easy.
