To add on to this question, does anyone know what formulas we will need that will not given to us on the back of the paper?

Original post by : ).
does anyone have all the formulas of unit 1 and 2 noted down ??
itll be helpful thanks..

wc.png i got the distance of the ball between point X and point Y to be 0.44 m
Question: use measurements from the photograph to calculate the horizontal velocity of the ball. (4)
.i know that i havto use speed=d/t
but which distance do i have to measure? and what time do i havto take ?
after measuring the distance and finding out the time i just havto plug it in the formula right?

This is the mark scheme.
I cant understand why they used 1 there AA8E639D-F240-43FB-B6C6-FF34D559F64F.jpg.jpeg

The MS is using Snell's law.

1.00 is the refractive index of the air.

I'm giving all three. How are you feeling at this point?

I'm very underprepared...

1....JPG i was able to do the first part
2....JPG
3....JPG for the second part it says ....T(vertical) does not change Or T(vertical) = (½) weight
I dont get why the T(vertical) doesn't change..shouldn't it increase (obviously in the end the effect will be nullified) but why is there a mark for this comment in particular?

You can find the formula for the exam on the link below
Hope that helps

Time taken is recorded by number of images if 20 pics r takes per second and for one bounce 12 pics r taken it means it took 1.67 seconds for one bounce and the distance taken is the horizontal line u drew the one on the bench at the base of the arc and then yeah just substitute is v=s/t
Someone pls correct me if im wrong

I think theres a mark bcz the fact tht both vectors horizontal and vertical are independent of each other is an important point and i guess the vertical T doesnt change because the downward force (weight) remains constant

In the questions with the * does our answer need to be in the same order as the mark scheme like the points have to be in the same order??

if ur considering 12 pics then the time taken is 0.6 seconds ...

So they found scale and then did the same thing i did right?
Oof im stressed for the exam
Reply 33
i dont get the scale thing
yea except they used 11 pics ..not 12 ...which means 0.55 seconds

If v use 0.6 doesnt the answer still come in the range mentioned :/ ?
Reply 38
good point..im just curious to why they used 11 pics ..not 12
and what is the purpose of using the scale. why are we cross multiplying..
why dont we just measure the length directly and divide it by the time..

You say you predict it will be easy like unit 3 but I actually thought unit 3 was pretty tough? They're not obviously hard questions, but they're all tricky and new :/

You did the old syllabus or new one?

Cuz in the old one all mcqs were pretty easy, the experiment was for finding center of gravity(that I'm practicing from class 7😂), The graph was for plank's constant, formula was given just take readings from graph. And Experiment was finding resistance for thermistor ez pz? You call this tough?
