Possible? Yes.

Will it be any good?...
You could potentially do it if you stick to it but it might not be as good as you expect it to be

It has been done before :beard:
It's certainly possibly, though I wouldn't advise it to those who can avoid being in that situation! As per Puddles post, it's possible to do this and do it well too; just keep focused, and crack on with it asap :yep:

Yes, and I remember the thread, but it's hardly something that should be encouraged.

I agree it should not be encouraged but when you've only got a couple of days left and no choice you just need some relentless optimism :yep:

Actually @Kimber2222 it is probably a good idea to speak to your tutor to let them know about the situation, as they might be able to help you - good luck :dumbells:
I logged in just for you, OP. YES. It is and you WILL make it damn good. I had 2 days to write my Geography NEA, which I wrote over like 12,000 words for and granted I did not sleep, had many breakdowns even whilst I typed, for the first time relied on energy drinks, it was worth it in the end. Ended up getting 62/70. Not my best but then I couldn't be happier.

Get offline and do it, you have time!! Besides, tomorrow is later than today. Next hour later than this hour.

My tutor is on leave, so I’m unable to speak to her😩. I submitted a 3000 word chapter in January that I did in one night and got a first(74) on that, but was told to complicate it more. Read in more depth on the subject (the philosophy of happiness and it’s influence on Renaissance Tragedy...fitting ik) and my argument wasn’t quite right. Trying to complicate it and it’s just impossible. It doesn’t help that it’s never been studied before. Don’t know whether I should just go forth with what I already and see how it goes, even though I don’t believe its true. Thanks for the advice and wishes of luck tho😊

Do you have a second supervisor that you can talk to, or just someone else in your department willing to help?

Would do you mean by never studied before? Is it that there is very little literature around the area or you are just presenting a new angle to existing work? Usually dissertations have to have a bit of an original stance on a topic, so maybe you need to focus on applying what's already been researched to your new idea.
probably.

My lecturers know I have depression, and so they gave me an extension. I doubt they’d give me any more time. I suppose I can speak to them though.
There hasn’t ever been anything studied in that area, Tragedy isn’t associated with happiness. I’ve researched those that argue against and I’m using those to prop up my argument. It’s just so hard. I only need 40% for a 2.1 so I’m just gonna aim for that. A first is pretty much unobtainable.

It is actually possible I did my 10000 word Law dissertation within 3 days. You just need to plan it and have enough fruit and water with you or food that makes you happy it's very much needed. What I did was in 3 steps.Day 1 I researched and got all the materials I needed spent the first 2 hours collecting Articles textbook website links and research together. Then I spent the rest of the day in the library or in a quiet space depending on what surrounding makes you concentrate and then I started collecting relevant information.. I usually named them as I go for example use a pencil to asterisk what is relevant to your answer in a textbook or article and for online research copy and paste anything you see that helps your work.. this should take most of day 1. Get some rest at least 7 hours as you need energy and stamina for day 2 By day 2 if I needed to gather more information I do that within the first 2 / 4 hours. Then start breaking down the information gathered into sections and paragraphs.. group together answers that fit together to make it more comprehensive For example .. page 3, 7 and 15 would go into the introduction then page 17 with the article on whatever would fit the first paragraph..Organise your findings into paragraphs. At this point don't stress about the word count just focus on getting the material together.By day 3 ..type type type away... Everything needs to be typed up into paragraphs or sections which ever is relevant. if it goes over your word count better you can still fix it.LAST DAY Proof read the whole thing edit as you go along cutting down to fit the word count. If you need to reference anything used . This would be the time To do so.. remember you previously marked the pages used in the textbook or bookmark the online website used.. you can find the reference easily.. This might take 6/7 hours maximum. If you need to submit it online then you have until the cut off time..I REALLY HOPE THIS HELPS... GOOD LUCK!!

That’s really encouraging and a really good mark too! Thank you for that. I have worked out that I only need 40% for a 2.1 as I’m currently averaging at a first, so just gonna blast it out and whatever it is, it is. Thank you.
Absolutely yes, you just have to start right away and don't give up!

It does seem a bit odd that your supervisor would okay you to study an area that has no literature on it at all. Did they give you the topic or did you propose it yourself? Either way, the existing body of work should have been identified as too weak for an undergraduate dissertation.

It seems like you're doing the best you can with what you have, so I think the best thing to do is carry on as you are. I still think finding someone in the department to discuss your work with is crucial at this stage -- it shouldn't matter that your supervisor is on leave, your university has a duty to provide someone in their absence.

I mentioned it in passing and my supervisor stated that I should do that. They also contacted a professor from uni of York who specialises in Latin philosophy and they too encouraged me to do it. Their argument was that my evidence lies in philosophy and the writers translation of extracts. Overall, it was my decision though. Still doesn’t make it any easier. Can’t exactly change my topic, so I suppose I’ll jusg have to hope for the best😩

I’m scared to contact them. I don’t want them knowing how bad things have got. Managed to get a paragraph done since writing this post and that’s all😂
It's possible, but it might end up rushed and not to the best of your ability. Why did you leave it so late anyway though?

It's only going to get worse if you keep waiting. University is all about helping yourself, and taking the initiative to ask for help when you need it. If you really want to try doing it alone, then that's fine, but I hope you don't regret not seeking help when you had the chance.
