Guide through the paper
General:

The topic shared between the texts in the exam will be relatable and won't be anything that is too specialised (you won't be seeing anything too political or anything littered with too much jargon).

Pay close attention to your grammar, spelling and organisation of your work in Section B, but don't worry about it much at all in Section A. Just focus on your writing style and analysis for the reading section.

There is good reason to skip the low-tariff questions. The marks for such questions are outweighed so greatly by the high-tariff questions that you really should use none of your precious time on them. It would be a waste. The questions I’m talking about are 1, 2, 4 and 5. You may wish to only answer these if you have time at the end.

Section A (reading section) - 56 marks total

Section B (writing section) - 40 marks total

I just checked for your account, and I'm encountering a similar issue. Oh well, it is a mystery, I guess.

Giving reputation for posts isn't enabled in the GCSE and A-level Exam Discussions 2019 section. Hence you cant rep any posts here. Once it is moved to English exams and study help you'll be able to rep posts

My scripts are on this site. There is no need to upload a scanned copy of a practice paper to this thread lmao.
I genuinely thought that paper 1 was quite hard this year and I managed to even lose 15marks due to the fact that I didn't even start it which is such a bid downfall however on the 7th of June I'm sitting the exam for paper 2 is there any chance how I could get the full 96 marks just like that because paper 2 is actually quite more harder.

There's a chance. It's incredibly exiguous, but it's there..

I'm not sure how you can do it though.

I ran out of time for paper 1. This will most likely lead me to running out of time for paper 2. What can I do?
I'm looking to get a 6

Also is it me or was the extract very hard to get your head around compared to the extract in the june 2018 paper?
