Don’t compare yourself to others - compare yourself to a previous version of yourself and aim to be a better, kinder, more patient and grateful person as the days go by.

Don’t chase material things. Be present and in the moment and take time to appreciate what you have. Happiness is much easier to attain when you’re not on the hedonic treadmill.

Academically - put the effort in now (A'levels) as once you have them they can never be taken away. Sadly I wasn't mature enough to take it on board at the time, but I did later.

Relationships - there can be 'something to lose' in pursuing someone where your instinct is that you're probably on a loser.
Love many, trust few. Always paddle your own canoe.
