I'm doing medical physics in Plymouth too! I've been wondering the same thing... I'm hoping it isn't too far away.

Is it normal for people who’ve received an offer to request interview feedback? I’m really curious as I did much better in one than the other. Do we need to send any ID in the email?
Hi everyone! Congratulations to everyone who got a place, it's great to read all these success stories. To those that didn't I hope you're not too disheartened, I've read many accounts of people getting in on the 2nd or 3rd try😄I'm really excited to have been offered a clinical engineering position in Sheffield but I have a few questions; The position is un_defined. Does this mean that I'll have a choice of specialisation in 2nd year (rehabilitation engineering etc.)?Has anyone had confirmation that the salary is roughly 30k? Would be fantastic if it's true 😁Is the interview score out of 60? I got 37 but was a little surprised to be ranked 11th; what kind of scores did you guys get?Does anyone have previous experience of the upgrades process? What are the odds that I'll get bumped up to one of my preferred options?

I think it could be as late as the 28th, when offers put on hold expire if not accepted

Yay more genomic bioinformaticians! I'm going to be in Exeter!
Mind if I ask what your backgrounds are? I'm just finishing up a PhD in parasite genomics/transcriptomics!

I got a place for bioinformatics (Genomics) at Oxford. There's only one place for that but there should be a healthcare informatics place at Oxford so if anyone here got that lemme know!

As for background I work in an NHS lab doing genetic testing (I mostly do MiSeq sequencing but I've done a bit of IonTorrent and standard PCR tests). I also do a bit of bioinformatics stuff already, I taught myself python and help maintain a sample database/virtual server and a sequencing coverage and annotation pipeline. So think having that experience already probably helped my application quite a bit!

Yep I am, and you? Where did you rank?

hey there - are you on reserve?
Hi everyone, I have been keeping up with this thread over the last few days as I have also been anxiously awaiting my results. I am delighted to have finally received an offer for my specialism(!), but wanted to share my story to hopefully encourage those that are dissapointed with their result this year. I know how you feel - I really do. This is the fourth time I've applied for the STP in my specialism. First time (2014), I had an interview that was unsuccessful. Second time (2015), I had an interview that placed me on the reserve list. Third time (2017), I passed the online tests but didn't get an interview. Now I can finally say that perseverance is key having been offered a place fourth time lucky. Moral of the story is, never give up on your dream! If you want it bad enough, you will get there. I really hope this helps someone feeling low right now - you can do it!

I'm also waiting
Most likely it will be at least 48 hours since the offers as that is the deadline
Hey guys,
Quick question regarding reserves. If ranked 7 and there was 6 available positions to start with and I’ve chosen all preferences..would that mean I’m next in line in case if anyone drops out??

I know it’s a big IF but trying to be positive!
Has anyone else received an offer for Genomics at Great Ormond Street Hospital?
Or for any other specialisms?

There will be a raft of offers roughly 48hrs after the initial offers were sent out (plus NSHCS admin time). Its not automatic as far I remember, they have to trigger it.
Yes go for it!

Hey! I've got the place for Health Informatics at Oxford!!

Awesome! I'm so glad I got Oxford as I already live here so it's much easier for me not having to move. If you want to dm me or something before starting feel free. I think the bioinformatics and healthcare Informatics locations are quite close
