I have been told this too. So they told me not to come to my booked day 3 assessment and offered me PC instead

Met Police.

I'm at the last stage - the detective constable assessment which is in June.

They told me this today.

Some people who attended day 3 this weekend had been told the same, others hadnt been contacted. I believe a fair number didnt turn up because of this.
The assessors onsite were surprised to hear this and had no idea what was going on with it. They escalated it, but obviously head office wasnt open at the weekend. They are due to be doing assessments regularly for some time to come.....

On other forums some people have just had results from Day 1 of the dc pathway. But the recruitment website is now saying it is closed for new applications, despite the page before saying applications are open until December.

So no idea what is currently going on, I'm sure all will become clear soon.
Assessments will still be ongoing and if successful they will place you on a list until the positions for the role is available again.

Did you have to call them and tell them this or?

Anyone who has done the Detective assessment day, did you do your health and medical before or after day 3? Also, do you find out the results of the online tests straight away or is there a wait? thanks

Health and medical before day 3. Online test results were fairly quick, but not instant.

They said to me after phoning them that all the assessments you complete for DC role are only valid for a year so if vacancies only become available after this then it could mean you doing it all again

No you get put on a list until vacancies are available and you get offered the role once it is available ..

That’s what I was hoping would happen but the person on the phone this morning told me different, they just seem all confused about it tbh. Will you be taking the PC offer or you going to wait?

So then you have to do the 3 days of assessments again, just because they don’t have any DC slots available if you pass? That doesn’t sound very fair...

Not fair at all, so I’m hoping we are put on the waiting list

How far are you through with the process already? It all seems so confusing with so many different things being told to each person.

Cleared! Finally.

How are you making your borough choices? Are you looking at statistics? Checking which borough specialises in what or...?

I made the choices strictly based on accessibility from my home. 😂

Did you receive anymore clarity on this? I'm currently waiting to attend my health assessment but it all seems a bit pointless if results are only valid for a year.
