AQA 6th June 2019 A - Level Further Maths Paper 2 Unofficial Mark Scheme

If you can remember anymore reply below and i'll add them on

Q1: Z- Z*= Z*-Z is not always true
Q2: y= ax + a
Q3: X^2 -1<1

volume of rev question = 2ab^2

vectors distance = 5.18

eigenvalues were 1 and 1/2

improper integral of x^(2)e^(-2x) was 25/4e^6

coupled de's
r = 4
y = 2400+1200e^(-3t/100)-3600e^(-t/100)
x = 2400-1800e(-t/100)-600e(-3t/100)

What did you say for the weird roots of polynomials proof?

Sort of just waffled really, said that there's too many variables for us to be able solve it since we only know 1 root, we'd have to know another root to be able to solve it. Hopefully i pick up a mark or 2

Basically what I said as well, did you finish the proof by induction question? I got to f(k) + 3 times some quadratic and then I said the quadratic was always even so that must always be a multiple of 6 but idk if that's right

What % do people think they got?

Need to apply n=2 and n=k+2

Yeah got that but didn’t say the even thing so reckon I’ll probably get 5/7

Paper 1 about 80%, Paper 2 about 70%, not sure what grade boundaries will be though

Maybe like low 70s/ high 60s avg from both papers, hope thats enough for an A

Yeah was thinking something like that but never ended up doing it

Think the limit was 25/4e^6

Q2: don't remember
Q3: X^2 -1<1

volume of rev question = 16ab^2?

vectors distance = 5.18

eigenvalues were 1 and 1/2

improper integral of x^(2)e^(-2x) was something e^-6

coupled de's
r = 4
y = 2400+1200e^(-3t/100)-3600e^(-t/100)
x = 2400-1800e(-t/100)-600e(-3t/100)

Anyone get anything different for volumes of revolution? I got pi(2ab^2) I think. My limits were 2b and b?
I did similar thing for induction. So I consider the case f(k+1)= some polynomial and I split cases. Case 1 is when k is even, f(k+1)-f(k) is divisible by 6, similarly for k is odd.
does anyone know what question 11 was, after proof by induction
Question 2 was the question about the asymptotes and the answer was y=ax+a i think.
The eigenvectors I got were [1,2] for lambda = 1 and [4,3] for lambda = 1/2
Also, for the volumes of revolution the limits were ab and b.
