maths

1. 5x/2 +1 =10
2. 2x/7 -- 3 = 2
what do I need to do next

I would change the - - to a +

Multiply out the fractions (1. x 2, 2. x 7) - remember to multiply both sides.

Make the x coefficients the same and then solve like normal simultaneous equations
1. times two by what
2. times 7 by what

1. times two by what
2. times 7 by what

So the first equation (5x/2 + 1 = 10) multiply it by 2
The second equation (2x/7 + 3 = 2) multiply it by 7

What are you trying to do?

Are they separate questions?
ok thanks

The second equation (2x/7 + 3 = 2) multiply it by 7
1. 5x/2 + 1 = 11 then times 2 and 5 x 2 =10
2. 2x/7 - 3 = 2 then times 7 and 2 x 7 =14
what should I do next

ok thanks
yes don't worry

Just solve from there:

5x + 2 = 20
2x + 21 = 14
hi what do you mean

The or on both questions is just another way you could work it out
its keeps saying wrong answer for both

Hmm, assuming that the equations are separate, this is correct?

are these equations linked in any way or are they separate questions?
they are separate questions

Does it give you a correct answer?
no it just said wrong answer

Not sure... I’ve subbed this into my calculator which will solve algebra and it’s what it’s getting.

It’s saying that
1. x= 3.6
2. x = -3.5
but it keeps saying wrong answer for both
