1st year uni students...some advice please

Here's a question...as someone who has just completed your first year in uni and knowing what you know about it now, what do you think you would have been useful to know before starting?
Take every opportunity you can in the first year. And make sure you’re super sociable during the first months of uni

Get a job, and join as many societies as you can. First year is the only year were the pressure won't be mounting as much, so it's good to start learning time management skills now, and joining all of these societies, or at least trying them out, will give you an idea for which ones you will want to continue with in future. Also, You'll need the job for money.
Talk to as many people as possible in the first few months.

Say yes to as many social opportunities as you can.

At least try out a few societies.

Try not to get stuck in a hole of living off alcohol and takeaways. The weight piles on reeeeally fast! :')
