ez
Did anyone get for the inequality of A
A is less than or equal to minus 9?
(edited 4 years ago)
What did you get for the inequality of a in the sqrt domain thing. I can't quite remember but I think it was a<=-9
Yes

Dont know if it is right

Yes, I did it in a very long winded way. Used the cosine rule. 15x^2 for the top triangle, 6x^2 for the right angled triangle.
Yeah that's what I got. Tried to do it originally by finding the angle then using 1/2absinc but that didn't work (think I misread something but it doesn't matter as I did another method) so I used pythag instead to get that.

I got that too

When you completed the square it was (x ?)^2-9-a
You knew that -9-a is the co-ordinates for the minimum point and that the graph can’t go below 0 so -9-a >= 0

Therefore a<=-9

Oh yeah it was -9

The lowest that the (x 3)^2 could be is 0, therefore the lowest (x 3)^2-9 can be is -9, you need (x 3)^2-9-a to be positive in order to square root it so have to add at least 9 to the (x 3)^2-9 is always positive for any value. If you are subtracting a you need a to be negative for you to be increasing the value so a has to always be negative and less than -9, sorry if I’ve explained it in a very confusing way
