Hong Kong parents protest US meddling

Parents in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region took to the streets on Sunday to urge US politicians to not interfere with the SAR's extradition amendments and its internal affairs.

The protest, organized by several Hong Kong social groups, also condemned foreign entities for misleading young people in the city.

It comes as a millioin Hong Kong citizens protest in support of the extradition bill, as it makes Hong Kong more secure.

Fair play to them. In case it had escaped peoples attention when a foreign nation sticks its nose into the internal affairs of another (or whatever you wish to class HK as) it tends to ruffle feathers and cause more harm than good.

Please, now we're getting the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda posted in here only to feed the pathological anti-US urges.

I would need a flow chart to demonstrate all the things that are wrong with this.
1) It isnt propaganda just because its Chinese
2) It isnt propaganda simple because you dont like it
3) It isnt anti US per-se.
4) There's plenty of pro-US propaganda on here so stop being such a snowflake on the matter.

It is propaganda, it's the Chinese making it look as if there disturbances in HK because of the US to divert the gaze from the real issue of that many people in HK wanting to preserve the democratic status left in place by the British empire. The photo in the link is such a graphic illustration of it.

I think Hong Kong needs some freedom...

The U.K should intervene, as per our treaty, to block this bill!

The UK is far too interested in Chinese business and investment to do anything like that. There's no leverage, China would just ignore it and resent it. We'll need to strike a deal with them after Brexit, we'll just make a formal and diplomatic representation. Should we really intervene, considering all that?

But Hong Kong people were not allowed to vote under British rule. There was no democracy

Never mind the above, how would Britain intervene any way (if for whatever reason they had that dream)? As you noted they control the purse strings and well the idea of Britain being able to do anything more than huff in the corner over this is cute, to say the least. Just imagine what would happen if they decided to sail their squeaky new aircraft carrier anywhere near China... it would not be pretty.
Bumping this to prove a point.
