Universities are TERRIBLE!

My God the education standards in this country have fallen so low.
There are students who shouldn't even be at university.
Like 50% of students go to university now (thanks to Blair).
I can find all my lecture notes on Wiki.
£9250 for this?
I can learn better online, without listening to some overpaid crank spout **** at me in a lecture.
Oh and the dose of left wing indoctrination too. Don't forget that!
Universities are a socialist cesspit these days.
Logic is not taught. Students can't think critically about stuff.
It is just TERRIBLE!
University is a PRODUCT.
Students are consumers and have a right to complain if their course is terrible.
My God no wonder society is falling apart.
Oh and don't think it gets better at Oxbridge.
What a hole that is. Full of self entitled people.
The whole education system, from school to university, is broken.
Education in this country is ****ING TERRIBLE.

Some people really thrive at university before embarking on successful and rewarding careers.

Others prefer to spend three years whining as they hobble towards a mediocre 2:2 and the inevitable call centre job.
Dont go to uni then :dontknow:

Society kind of IS. A degree is a MUST HAVE for most jobs. This is just silly but there you go, that's another problem with British society.

Degrees are meaningless. I do stuff on my degree I could do at GCSE. They teach nothing new. No new 'skills', nothing, except the same old 'revision' stuff. It's all a load of rubbish. I love learning new stuff. I read a lot online, books etc. I even run my own online business. But the way they teach at university is TERRIBLE! I've learnt more through YouTube/Wiki than lectures. Degree is a money spinner. Total waste of time tick the box kind of thing.

It isn’t. And it isn’t. (And if You are determined to get one of those jobs then you’re not compelled to study full time or in a brick university if you find it so tedious. You don’t even have to get a degree from a UK university).

No idea where you're coming from there. Do you live IN THE REAL WORLD? Apply for any mediocre job and the first thing requested is a degree, then experience etc.

So you're saying that if someone wants a low paid job, they are not entitled to learn/acquire new knowledge?

I think you’re living in a very narrow social circle with very limited understanding of the job market if you think that’s the case.

I’m saying you have other options instead of whining about how unsatisfied you are with your life choices so far and blaming society for your poor decisions.

What sort of job do you want to do?

I already work and have done for years.

I am complaining as a CUSTOMER who was sold a TERRIBLE PRODUCT i.e DEGREE.

As a past consumer I knew exactly what I was buying into and I knew what I needed to do to get the outcome I wanted.... and therefore I'm happy with the product... moan moan moan good riddance you don't even understand how lucky you have it in the UK. :rofl:
My university was pretty good, glad I went. I do think you get out of it what you put in and some students expect it all on a plate. Some, like the OP, are just bitter because they messed up.

Good for you. What is your point? That you are satisfied and therefore other people must be satisfied too?
Universities vary hugely. I do maths so I'll only comment on that, but look up the different maths courses and tell me they're all pretty much the same. Even within the top 10 universities for maths the courses vary widely in difficulty and breadth. And I would say the tutorials/supervisions at oxbridge makes them generally better than universities that can't offer that level of support.

If you’ve worked for years without a degree why are you arguing that you were forced to get a degree to get a job? Are you suffering memory loss?

Have you contacted the Competitions and Markets Authority and your local trading standards to complain about being mis sold a product? Or to your course rep, student union, staff student liaison committee or department? Or to your home or university constituency mp?

How do you expect whining on tsr to make a difference?
