So you’d opt for the jeans with formal shirt look then?

a suit, jacket and trousers. or dark tracksuit look

Do you have formal trousers that can be worn that are not pressed? If the trousers are not pressed (not folded/creased down the centre of the leg) it makes it look more suitable without a jacket. Pressed trousers can work, however would look like a jacket is part of the combination

haha, same but without the jacket in the first.

I love wearing suits but I always feel overdressed when I wear them socially. What’s your opinion on ties? Can a nice navy suit look sexy with just a nice shirt or is a tie needed?

The brand and material doesn't particularly matter just gotta look good in the mirror! I like wearing a brown leather belt with my jeans. I think the 1st look is good but it definitely needs a suit jacket in my opinion.

Thanks for your reply. A good belt is essential any good recommendations? What’s your opinion of the 1st look do you think it looks a bit odd without the suit jacket?

Wish I could wear a suit all the time haha
1st one

1) Suit trousers with formal shirt tucked in with monk strap shoes/brogues/loafers. No jacket.

2) Dark navy jeans with formal shirt tucked in with monk strap shoes/brogues/loafers. No jacket.

Would love to hear your opinions

Thanks!

It depends on the event but with a black skinny tie, a watch and brogues I would say that option 2 looks best.
