Job interview outfit

Is it okay to wear Dr Martens boots to a McDonald’s interview/OJE?
The email said to wear “Flat, closed-in, low heel shoes, to minimise the risk of slips and to help protect your feet” - the boots are clean and polished, but I’m afraid I might seem unprofessional.
Are they black? If they’re not a noticeable colour they will probably be fine?
