Social life at London postgraduate halls

Hi

Basically, I'm finishing my BSc pretty soon at Cambridge, I'd like to do an Msc at either Imperial or UCL next year

Thing is, I'm a bit of a sesh-head. Of course, I study a lot, but likewise, I still find the time for 1-2 fat seshes a week (Cambridge isn't great for it but I make the most of it).

Unfortunately most of my coursemates are wet as f**k and I fear to think how wet some postgraduate students might be

I don't want any of that wet sh*t man, f**k that

My question is, do people still have a social life in postgraduate halls (specifically in London)? Of course by social life I mean regular drinking, clubbing, etc.? I'm old as f**k compared to some people on my course but like f**k is that stopping me from getting sozzled every weekend. I'd like to live with other postgraduates who also know how to live a little, not postgraduates who would call security at 9PM on a f**king Friday after hearing a bit of music

And please don't tell me that I have a drinking problem or that I'm being unreasonable or irresponsible. I work hard and play harder. Idk why so many people are being sooo boring fml

Chances are slim. A very high proportion of PG students in London are overseas students committing themselves financially to the hilt and they aren't going to waste a moment on anything that isn't a professional development opportunity. If you've found UG Cambridge too study focussed, then PG London, on average is likely to be much worse.

However, why do you have to socialise with people you live with? Outside where you live, the opportunities in London can hardly be bettered - change the focus of your social circle.

That's assuming this isn't just a troll, who doesn't know about Cam degrees.
I'm in a similar situation. I'm 27 (kill me) and I'm probably going to be living in private halls. Moving 300 miles to London, won't know a single person. They're gonna place me with other postgrads, which is good because I'd feel like a creep hanging around 18 year olds constantly. But I've lived with postgrads before and they were boring as f**k. I tried looking at houses in the area, but all the ads were like "we're past our partying days" "like a good cuppa and off to bed by 10 lol" "will mostly be studying in my room all day so you can be guaranteed a quiet house :smile:" and that freaks me out man. I don't wanna live like a 70 year old (no offence to 70 year olds). Honestly, fair enough that others have that perspective, there's nothing wrong with it. I can completely understand it, but it's not me. I don't care that much about going out clubbing, but I love house parties and I wanna do exciting, fun stuff. I wanna join clubs and make some really good friends and do more dumb 20-somethings s**t before it's too late! It's my priority to do as well as I can with this, I did well in my undergrad and I don't intend to f**k it up now, but I don't feel like I need to sacrifice my personality to do it.

I spent the majority of my gap year in London, I know what it's like. Cambridge is hardly any better
