Part time working hours

Hi guys, I've tried Googling but the results are mixed and confusing so here goes. I'm a full time student and have an interview coming up for a part time job. As a full time student what are the maximum hours I am permitted to work each week?

It really depends on your age.

The government website should point you in the right direction:

No problem.

Oh alright, well you're no longer categorised under "child employment" anymore, you follow the adult laws set out by the government.

You can work the maximum hours that a part time contract states, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are still studying. I would advise you to come up with a reasonable amount of hours so that it doesn't eat away at your studies, but enough that you still meet the requirements for the job.

That is your choice, personally I would only restrict myself to a few because trust me it becomes tiring and your time is quality as a full time student. Good luck nonetheless!

Again it really depends on your work load but honestly I genuinely would say 16 hours as a maximum. Even then that might be too much. For me I found 10-12 hours was best for me but you'll work out what works best for you and can ask to reduce your hours if it does become too much. Make sure you have enough time to socialise and have free time though to make sure you're not just working 24/7 though cause that is not good for your mental health!

Also take into consideration that you probably are gonna be exhausted after work depending on your hours so you aren't gonna be able to do as much school work and revision afterwards as you would do on a day where you weren't working.
