Need a sick note/letter from my gp

I just spoke to the receptionist at my GP and told her I need a sick note, she stated that the doctors don't write notes like that especially not for students. What on earth am I meant to do now? I have a referral and a blood test note but these arent solid evidence, I've visited the doctors around 4 times in the past month because of these issues and now I have no real way to prove it or get ECS.
Make an appointment with the GP and don't tell the receptionist what it's for. GPs do write sick notes, it's pretty common.

Thanks for the reply. Is there anything I can do if the GP doesn't accept my request? like ask for a print out of my medical record or would that be stupid
