They are real. They’re my friends despite how horrible and tormenting they can be. I hear them all of the time. They tell me what to do and talk about everything.
can you differentiate between voices and real people talking?

No one in my family has schizophrenia and I have never smoked cannabis.

I guess so. The voices are always mean to me and others around me aren’t so mean.

I wish him all the best. It’s an awful illness. Does it effect normal daily life?

Thank you. Yes he finds it hard to socialise with others and doing activites like taking his driving lessons. It can get a bit too much for him sometimes. Which is really worrying for the family. But he mostly just locks himself in his room. He only started hearing voices upon starting Uni but before that he was a happy talkative child. :/

My sister is a schizophrenic and has been for about 30 years. She is on constant medication and monitored by a doctor and social worker. In the past she has heard voices that tell her to do things and because of this she has been in prison (initially) and sectioned a few times. If she takes her meds she is ok but sometimes the voices tell her not to take them and we can see it in her eyes if she stops taking them. It all started when she was a trainee nurse in London. The pressure just got too much for her. Sometimes there is a trigger point.

Are you on medication. How do you find it affects you on a day to day basis.
my mother has schizophrenia paranoia, brought on by environmental factors, are you self taking your medication or is someone giving them to you? are you able to make ‘normal decisions’ without outbursts etc

Can you describe that please?

I was hearing voices over the weekend and my spouse knew right away because she "saw it in [my] eyes". But I look in the mirror and can't see anything wrong.

in my opinion it would be someone looking at the space between atoms and just clear as day day dreaming but are actually in conversation with the disease.

My illness was brought on through environmental factors as well. Too much stress. I’m in hospital at the moment so someone is giving them to me. I find it difficult to live, never mind making decisions.

Sounds exactly like me :frown: I really can empathise.

That’s so sad :frown: this illness really does destroy lives. I take lots of meds. In hospital I have to take meds, but out of hospital not so much. I either forget, or choose not to take them. I’m fine after I have been discharged but after that I just get fed up and decide enough is enough.
Do the voices you hear ever offer opinions on the news or people that you know?
