18 at sixth form

I may have to start sixth form/college at 18 years old. I was wondering whether it would be difficult for me to socialise since everyone else will be two years younger and will I have to pay

I started at 18 and it's not weird. There's not a lot of difference between a 16 and an 18 year old anyway. Plus it's easier to make friends if anything, because they'll want you to buy them cigarettes and booze.

A lot of people turn 17 as soon as college starts and also if you’re a decent person, you’ll easily get along with people because in college people tend to just hang out with whoever

If you're starting when you're 18 you might find that you can't go to a school's sixth form, as most have an age limit, but independent colleges can be different.

Regarding the age gap, you won't even notice it, and neither will they. At the end of the day, you're at the same place, doing the same qualifications. These people will become your friends. You'll have to get used to age gaps for when you go to uni (if), and certainly for when you enter the workplace. At some point, you need to get used to the fact that you won't be spending the whole of your life with people from the same school year as you.

Mate you're overthinking it, I'm going into year 13 and one of my closest friends just turned 19. It really doesn't matter. Even if it did, this is your education and your education should be a priority that you shouldn't throw away because people judge you.

I started a year after my actual year group did, and turned 18 early into the year (October). I have had no issues making friends on my course, despite some of them being almost 2 years younger than me. Me and 2 people off of my course have just got back off of a holiday together, so yeh - it wasn't that dificult to make some close friends.

2 years isnt that big of a difference in age.

OMG there are sixth forms that accept 18 year olds???? Can u please let me know which ones accept 18 year olds (I’ll be turning 18 in June) I’ll be re taking my year due to medical reasons
