What is A Level Politics all about?

What is A Level Politics all about and what can it lead to in terms of a career? I'm thinking about doing it alongside A Level French and Business. Would this be wise? Could somebody help me understand what the course is really about?

I did edexcel, but I think all the boards are similar
There were 3 main sections, UK poliitcs, UK government, and comparative- either global politics (IR, UN, Globalisation) OR US poliitcs
UK politics was things like voting systems and behaviour, election turnout, role of the media, the history of suffrage and political parties. For ideology you do Conservatism, Liberalism, and Socialism

UK government was how the government worked (lol) so the relation ships between government, parliament and judiciary, how a law or bill is made, the role of the constitution, relationship with the EU, and sovereignty. For ideaology you do ONE of feminism, nationalism, anarchism, multiculturalism or ecologism (your school decides)

Comparative (I did global) is basically you have on question on directly comparing two different theories/systems, for global it's liberalism vs realism, and for US it's US vs UK. You also have several other topics you need to cover

It's good to keep up with the news, but its not necessary I guess, and generally in terms of content it's not too bad but in terms of exams it's basically just essays, no short answer questions

feel free to ask any more questions

And where the heck did you get this idea from? Need to know because I'm doing A Level Politics in sixth form and don't want to be caught off guard by anything.
