Ouch... I hope that was one hell of a beer.

he entered the wrong amount.

No he didnt, the bar lady did. Patrons tend not to be allowed to enter the amount they feel like paying.

Exactly?! I mean its frightfdully hard to stuff a couple of crumpled fivers into a strippers g-string if youre armed only with a credit card..

Never mind the mistake, that he had so much credit on his card is what's remarkable!

Not $100k - more like $70k. Still a tad expensive - it should have been £5.50

Some cards don't have predefined limits.

I find it better to replace "credit" with "debt" - it's clearer, IMO.

I merely quote what the man said in the article aha. I havent checked the exchange rates these days... they tend to just depress me.
I recon it’s reasonable to charge that much to an Aussie.

In theory yes but they all still (at least Amex does) at any rate i imagine this came out of his debit account given his comments on the matter and that i seriously doubt a lowly sports reporter has a credit card with that kind of credit on it

Fair enough. He actually got charged £55k, and was probably quoting Australian dollars.

A$.

Indeed, although Aussies tend to omit the A when they use their currency as context is generally enough, we arent Americans on this side of the world!
