Should I do this to become a solicitor?
So basically do an undergraduate degree in international relations and then do a masters in law. I want to specialise in public law. What do you think?????

It's not a bad plan to do a non Law related degree if you are more interested in IR - you can always convert to Law at a later stage
There is no need to do IR to know more about international public law in order to work in international public law. It's sufficient to have a law degree and take a specialist master's in international public law, or skip the master's altogether.
You can do a bachelor's in IR first, of course.

Do you know what most public lawyers do for a living?
More than half of all judicial review cases brought relate to immigration and asylum. Other major areas are homelessness and housing; community care, prisons and town & country planning.

That is a vastly more interesting one, one that went all the way.
We have never across the practice got a case beyond the Court of Appeal although one of our constituent firms once got one to the House of Lords before our merger.
