Is TSR a waste of time?

 I doubt so we’ve all felt the same way at some point

Just finished A level

:five: I know what you mean you end up destroying yourself inside

Glad you have made it out alive.

I find it most frustrating that so many of us struggle with A-levels when imo they are not THAT difficult if you are doing the right things. I think personally that the 6th form experience is ruined because so many students choose the wrong subjects and schools (most) are rubbish when it comes to assisting individuals during UCAS application.
Hahha, it's fine it's all anonymous

Sadly, being a workaholic can have negative repercussions on the very thing we are trying to work on compulsively (at least that has been the case for me). My friends were intimidated by me because I used to never sleep "doing work" and they'd think I was working all the time. In reality, only <10% of that time consisted of actual productive work and many of them ended up performing better than I did because they worked "smart". I think that the amount of time a person is "working" doesn't necessarily mean they are actually benefiting/ working efficiently. So, keep that in mind, Measure your work by the amount of tasks you finished not hours

I think that the most important thing I learnt was that if I am sitting staring at my work for hours (or another tab), instead of thinking that it means that I need to beat myself up for it, I needed to go out/ exercise/ take a break/ socialise. Don't underestimate this tip. Seriously, it's my absolute biggest regret and if you can stop yourself from falling into that trap, it can literally change your life (which uni you end up in and what grades you get).

I relate way too much to the thinking I don't deserve happiness part, especially when there's tasks piling up. But again please don't fall for it.

Good luck xx

Knowing me I’ll probably do the same my mind never learns it’s lesson

*takes notes of the videos too*
I honestly don’t think I’ve come to terms with the fact I’ll be starting uni soon let alone worry about my actual mindset

But yeah Jaz we got this :dumbells: we just gotta stay strong and keep our cool .... let’s see how long that lasts exactly :ninja:

You should watch them, they're so good!

Hahhah, exactly. I know that my motivation will inevitably fade at some point and I am petrified by the thought of it

What does TSR mean to you?

Are there any particular benefits you have reaped from using TSR (if you're a non-applicant)?

Useful for contacting with university representatives.

Thanks  just about tbh

Yeah that’s true it’s all about your mindset and just telling your self your capable of anything. Same my 6th forum were awful I had no real support from them... tbh I received more support from TSR. In regard to UCAS they just left us to it until it was their turn to send it off and that’s it really.

agree with you there

This is all too relatable. See, I think honest discussions like this between students would actually be so useful. It is a bad habit in general to compare your productivity with others'.

Yeah, 100%. Obviously my grades mean the world to me but I plan on working smarter and filling up my free time with hobbies and a part-time job.

I am actually laughing, we have managed to make this thread about school and studying. So repulsive.

I get so triggered when I see the words "awful" and "6th form" in the same sentence. It is obviously frustrating to know that those who are supposed to help you were incompetent by choice. At the same time, I think our bad experiences are a blessing in disguise because they have alerted us to the reality that leaning on others (entirely) for support is a terrible idea. So, there is that.

I hope you have an amazing time at uni! Good luck
Agreed with you there.

Hahaha, true
Apologies :colondollar:

Exactly it’s like what are you here for then? Just to sit and preach how terrible we are (my 6 form would honestly complain all the time about us). I guess that is true I have definitely learnt my lesson there.

Thanks :h: best of luck with your A levels? I think

I knowwwwwww. I get so angry. *tries to remain calm* Terrible, all of them. I need to consider living away from civilization soon, I can only bear the company of one (myself). jk

Yeah, retaking A-levels. Thank you x
:console: That’s life

Haha I’m sure you’ll manage

Best of luck with it second time lucky right :crossedf: :hugs:
I think I'd have dropped out of college/uni years ago if it weren't for TSR. Grow Your Grades is a big part of why I've done as well as I have in my education.
