Someone’s Threatening to expose pictures of me aged 16 // advice please

Pretty much when I was 16 I got pressured into sending someone I was speaking to photographs of my self . I’m now 18 and they’re threatening to expose these pictures onto a site which most of my year group of the whole town could see , could someone advise me on what I should do? I thought about going to the police but I don’t have proof of their threats as it was sent to someone else .

I don't think you would need proof. Most likely the police would agree to just go round and have a word with this person and tell them that the minute they post anything they will be chargeable under the new revenge porn laws. Tell the cops you're not expecting them to lay charges but you DO want them to go round and have a word with this person on your behalf. That will scare the **** out of him/her - nobody wants to be a convicted sex-offender...
I see. So not only are they in posession of child pornography, but they also intend to distribute it. That is literally illegal and pretty damn bad. I would suggest you tell that to them and phrase it that way so they think about what they're ACTUALLY doing, aside from revenge or anything. If these photos weren't already posted publically, then that person is also performing unauthorised distribution and defamation. I don't know if the police would be bothered or not, but the official "legal" route is definitely something I'd look down before doing something silly like bribing them or giving into blackmail. Do keep in mind you've produced child pornography (of yourself). I am not a lawyer and this isn't legal advice.
Alternatively you could try and get a message to this person and let them know that you fully intend to get the police involved if they post anything. They will get in trouble if they do it (its actually a very serious matter) so it's in their best interests as well as yours for them to avoid posting these pics. Especially now they have made threats (which signals an intention to cause harm) it falls squarely under the revenge porn legislation. If it comes to a criminal investigation you wont need to personally have proof because the police will go and collect statements from any other witnesses who know anything about it.

And even in worse case scenario,if it all goes bad and he/she does post them, don't stress too much. We all have bodies underneath our clothes, its not the end of the world. You'll be embarrassed for a bit and a few people might talk some crap but you'll get over it :groovy:

Police them, first name it clear and then go to the police 🚨
Its child porn so they will end up as a sex offender if they do anything with them, including not immediately deleting them. having pictures of a child (U18) on their phone or laptop is a crime

technically the OP could also get done for distributing it tbh..

not if she was a minor and coerced into taking them
OP are you and this person at school together? Tell a teacher. They will give them a scare which is what they need as this would be both revenge porn and underage child porn. Also make it clear to this guy you will go to the police if they're released.

No need to worry at all, it’s against the law for that person to even have that picture, so if they don’t stop, report them, definitely
