Hi!If you don't receive the special support element of the loan, your entire maintenance loan will be regarded as income. The monthly deduction for SF depends on your course dates and UC assessment period dates. So how many AP's your academic covers. You will be entitled to full UC in the summer holidays. For arguments sake we will go with the typical 9 AP's over an academic year. £8944 / 9 = £993.78, take £110 disregard for expenses (UC disregard £110 each AP in the academic year). That is a monthly deduction of £883.78 for SF from your UC.Assuming your partner works, there will also be a deduction for their earnings. If he's not then no deduction. If he is earning let me know how much and I will calculate that deduction for you. Do you rent? This is a big factor as people who live at home with parents or own their home don't have the housing element which will impact maximum entitlement. So for SF you will have £883.78 (based on 9 AP's) deducted form UC, plus any other deductions that are already coming off for advances and earnings etc.During the summer holidays no SF will be considered so you will get your usual UC.You may also want to consider applying for Parents Learning Allowance, this is disregarded. If your award is 0 then it maybe worth applying for bursaries from your university as these are for hard up students to help with living costs. These would be counted for UC so it really is only worth it if you have a nil UC award.Visit https://www.uceplus.co.uk/student-811729.html for information, it's excellent. I was once a moderator on the Facebook group linked to this so I do have good knowledge on UC so if you do have any questions feel free to ask or message me if you need to.

They will consider the maximum whether you take it or not.

Let me work out exactly what you will get. What is your maximum entitlement to UC before deductions? Are you studying in London or outside of the capital?

is 1,546.59. because im owing them money the final is 1498.92, i studying in london
I'll base it on £1498.92.

Your maximum loan is £12,729 and you'll also get £1,716 PLA. PLA is disregarded as well as £3783 SSE. Total of £5499 disregarded for UC. Total taken into account for UC is £8946.

If 8 APs in your academic year: £8946/8 = £1,118.25 - £110 UC disregard = £1008.25 deducted from monthly UC (£490.67 UC). Plus 4 months summer of full UC.

If 9 APs in your academic year: £8946/9 = £994 - £110 UC disregard = £884 deducted from monthly UC (£614.92 UC). Plus 3 months summer of full UC.

If 10 APs in your academic year: £8946/10 = £894.60 - £110 UC disregard = £784.60 deducted from monthly UC (£714.32 UC). Plus 2 months summer of full UC.

What are UC assessment dates and what (exact) day does your academic year start and finish?

may assesemmt date s from the 27th of month a till the 28 of month B, an i et payed evry 5th of the month. i study nursing so i start on the 16/09/2019 till the 6/08/202
Okay so an AP can't be 27th-28th. If your payday is the 5th of the month it is probably 29th-28th.

I had an idea you might be a nursing student as I knew it was a course than ran for 11/12 months and didn't use that option.

So:

Course dates: 16/09/2019-06/08/2020

AP's covered in your academic year;

29/08-28/09
29/09-28/10
29/10-28/11
29/11-28/12
29/12-28/01
29/01-28/02
29/02-28/03
29/03-28/04
29/04-28/05
29/05-28/06
29/06-28/07

As your 'summer break' starts 06/08 then this means your AP 29/07-28/08 has no SF counted as your summer starts in this time. So you're 5th September payday should be your 'full' UC.

So 11 AP's are used in your academic year. So £8946/11 = £813.27 - £110 = £703.27

£1498.92 - £703.27 = £795.65 UC per AP in academic year and then in the AP 29/07-28/08 (payday 5th September) you will get full UC entitlement paid.

Hope this helps

My assessment period is the 4th-3rd. I get paid on the 10th of every month. I am really panicking as I am a lone parent to two boys. X

Hey louisag92, I finally get a reply from SFE but my entitlement is more than that, I receive 16,000£. How much of the difference would this do to my UC ?? Will they cancel my UC account because I receive more mkneybthan expected ??

£16,000!? That's a high loan! Would you mind popping me a picture/screenshot of your SF breakdown? Obviously hiding sensitive information or just type it out. Then I can work out what would be disregarded.
im not that good with picture screening , so i will just type it . on my letter it just saying that of the £16000, £3,783.00 is the SSE that ir desregarderd and the PLA on top is of £1,716.00. since im living and studying nursing in london , have one child my AP is stilll off 11 months.

So you have maintenance loan of £16,000? Or is this grants as well? As the top amount, even for London is just under £13,000. Is the PLA on top of the £16,000?

The PLA is included in the 16000
