Anniversary of the 11th September 2001 attacks.

https://twitter.com/search?f=tweets&vertical=news&q=%23911Anniversary

such a terrible day for America and the world.
I can still remember where I was, who told me, my reaction and watching the news over and over till the early hours.

Horrible day, RIP and thoughts with families.
I forgot it was even today.

I remember it perfectly well.
2,996 lives lost needlessly. People who had families left behind their partners/spouses and children, mothers and fathers.
Especially for those who had actually worked in the towers didn't expect not to return home after 10:00am that morning. :sadnod:

Unfortunately we now live in a world of corruption and will continue to do so.

They don't seem to make much of it over the pond anymore but that is most probably due to the humiliating factor, it's like the French commemorating the fall of Paris or something like that. Caledonia Road off Kings X, that's where I was and it remains the most shocking event ever in my lifetime. Only Hiroshima and Nagasaki beat 9/11 for shock or unexpectedness, the uncertainty of where it had come from putting it in a league of its own.
RIP.

It's worth noting that 67 British nationals were killed in the attacks making 9/11 one of the most, if not the most, deadly attack on UK citizens.

18 years ago means a sizeable percentage of the population now has no recollection of it.

Leftist media is so used to it by now that even on this day they have to manipulate events to suit their narrative, the lengths they go to avoid any mention of who was behind the attacks is remarkable. Then, they do just the same every time there's a sectarian attack on Christians.

“18 years have passed since airplanes took aim and brought down the World Trade Center. Today, families will once again gather and grieve at the site where more than 2000 people died,” the Times’ verified Twitter account wrote in a message accompanying a story about 9/11 victims being remembered at Ground Zero.

That's a tweet from the NYT, deleted after some people pointed out it makes the planes look guilty. They changed it into this:

It has been 18 years since terrorists commandeered airplanes and the twin towers of the World Trade Center were brought down.

Should anyone from outer space tap into this stuff and they'd be excused for assuming hey were self-driving planes. The credibility of journalism will never recover from what leftism has done to it, I used to be a BBC regular and now I can't stand it.

Still no mention of who was behind the attack, should a kid be reading it all and he'd be clueless. Not by accident but by design. Why?

You are using a thread about the 9/11 attack anniversary to have an irate and petty rant about how a tweet is phrased? How 2019 of you.

The NY Times and BBC links you posted have a sombre tone and focus on the victims.

You could learn an important lesson about class from them.

Saudi Arabia is pretty much a far-right state. Fundamentalist Islam is a far-right ideology.
You don't get much more far right that fundamentalist Saudi Islamists!

I would guess that responsible news outlets are trying to avoid the the old "dem Muslims" trope so beloved by Murdoch mouthpieces.

Something about who carried out the attacks and why, would that really be so out of place? From the language contortions, the effort to not go anywhere near it is plain to see and they'll have their reasons for it but I think they demean the subject a bit with that attitude.

Yeah, and you're using a thread about the 9/11 attack anniversary to have yet another cheap dig as you always seem to do when addressing me. Before disappearing back to the discomfort zone, save the cod morality for someone more deserving.

Of course they are but the focus is on them, not Murdoch. They don't have to say anything about Muslims, I haven't. What's ironic is that they seem to be the ones making it about Muslims by such deliberate omission of who carried out the attacks.

How is it? I mean as much as i loathe the house of Saud its hardly far right nor islamist for that matter. Hell its made a point of persecuting and exporting them beyond its boarders.
