weird humming/buzzing noise - WHAT IS IT.

so every night i can hear this constant weird low frequency/buzzing/humming noise. it's been going on for weeks now and i can't figure out where it's coming from, it's driving me crazy. my bf can't hear it, but i'm pretty sure it's because he doesn't give a damn/doesn't pay attention to it. any idea what the noise could be?

3 things I can think of:

Tinnitus

Feedback from electrical components. Try switching everything off completely.

Loud outdoor noise from far away enough that it only sounds like a hum from where you are.
it happens to me when someone has been screaming in my ear

Is it maybe just the noise from it being silent? I hate "noisy silence".

but surely you can't just suddenly develop tinnitus, for no reason? especially at a young age?

My sockets make humming/buzzing noises when a device is plugged in but fully charged- in two different buildings; if that is of any help.
maybe there’s a fly stuck in your ear. i used to have a ring stuck inside my ear

Alarm clock or power supply would be my first guesses. Try unplugging everything.

Its tinnitus mate. Nothing to do with age. Or..your fridge is talking to you.

Tinnitus or some appliance most likely

Don't take medical advice or diagnosis from people on forums. If you cannot find the source of the noise and have reasonable concern- book a doctors appointment.
A fridge is another good guess. Aircon fans in hotels can drive me nuts too.
