So I've worked in marketing for around 2 years and have worked in various aspects. Before that, I worked at an events agency and before that, I worked in a bingo hall.

Best parts of my job are that I get to be creative. I studied Media Production at university and have loved being creative since I was young so when I get to be creative, my job is the best job in the world. The worst is something having to work with clients who don't know what they want but know they don't want what you have provided them. That can be time-consuming and soul-crushing. I used to work as an in house marketer and that was better than working in an agency as you got to know the brand and could produce good content.

Originally I never looked at marketing as a career. I wanted to do video editing but when I saw there were little jobs out there in that field I Googled what else I could do with my degree and marketing was one of them, got my first job as an assistant and haven't stopped growing as a marketer. Would I become a video editor now, probably because that's where my passion is but they say don't do your hobby as a career if you love it, otherwise it will no longer be your hobby and you'll come to loathe it.

The writing. I'm not a good writer at all so when I have to spend a few days just writing about topics that don't interest me it can be tough and I tend to go home feeling more tired and worn down. My current job requires a lot of writing with little variety which is why I struggle immensely and don't enjoy my day to day.

Explore the different options of digital marketing. There are a wide variety of jobs suitable for every degree so if you want to move into marketing then find out what excites you and do your research about how to get into the position. Never stop learning. I'm still quite early in my career but I'm always learning as I go as Digital Marketing changes on a daily basis. Less than a year ago YouTube was the only biggest video marketing platform but TikTok is now one of the most downloaded apps of this quarter. Digital Marketing moves fast and you have to be willing to keep up with it.

It depends on what field you go into. Digital Marketing can range from around £18k - £30k. PPC - £25k, SEO £24k. It's all different in comparison to the company. I've applied for jobs that are £30k entry level but I started as a £15k entry-level and now on £21k. It's the same as any industry really, the pay is as good as the company.

I do not have much knowledge about this sector and that's why I am confusing many things. My passion is to be a digital marketer and establish my online business. Now I am on the research part and getting some idea about trending keywords my targeted niches from the Kparser keyword suggestion tool. So please if you have familiar with any other better keyword research tool than Kparser then please suggest that. Thank you.!

Hi @alees1991, I always want to enter the digital marketing but I am a foreigner. English is not my native language. I am aware that marketing is the industry that requires lots of copywriting, blog writing, etc.. Do you think it would be hard for me to find a marketing job in the UK? I have been applying for jobs since I moved here 3 months ago. I studied behavioural economics and had a 7-month internship where I had hands-on experience in email marketing, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, SMS campaigns and social media. I felt really worn out every day trying to find my perfect first job. I'd appreciate it if you could give me some advice. Thank you in advance.

Hi @OliviaMXH, that's great that you want to digital marketing. Yes you are right some aspects of digital marketing does require a lot of writing but there are also other aspects. As you mentioned you did Google AdWords so maybe look for a job in that? Social Media Marketing might also be a good aspect to go down.

Don't give up trying but do keep learning, do some free online qualifications such as Google Analytics to build up your CV. Also, 3 months is nothing. It took me 18 months to get a job in the industry as it's quite competitive and there are lots of people looking for the same type of job out of uni. Just keep going, you've got this.
