Labour is committing suicide - written by a disgruntled labour member

I am a Labour member and this week, and for several weeks before, in fact for several months before, I have seen this party that I once loved commit suicide.

Part 1 of this is the fact Labour won't back Brexit. They won't back leave. They should back the former, but they won't back anything. They'll back a second referendum though which nobody apart from a few overrepresented liberals want. This is bad enough to make me watn to leave

Part 2 of this is the fact that today the Labour party thought it would be a good idea to effectively abolish borders and make the UK a free for all for economic migrants and other migrants. I saw this coming, we talked about it at my CLP. I was the only one to oppose it.

There is nothing socialist about "free borders". More to the point however there is nothing pragmatic about this at a time when the party should be pragmatic. This policy is only supported by liberals and radlibs (who claim to be socialists, usually trotskyites and general idiots). Well done Labour. You've just alienated the entirety of the working classes who will now vote for a disastrous BXP+Tory coalition that will turn our country into the 51st state of the USA, just as bad as being the 28th state of the EU.

I want a Corbyn government, but I can't literally go out and try and convince people that a labour government is a good idea, because the way things are going, it won't be a good idea.

Can any other labour party remembers relate.

FYI: I'm loyal to the working class, not any political party. The moment that political party stops representing the working class (which it did a long time ago tbf) I will withdraw my support from it.

I definitely agree with you . As a party member who backed Corbyn in both leadership elections I don’t think we should be backing a second referendum at all as I personally see it as anti democratic. I also don’t like the Idea of completely opening our borders to migrants ( don’t get me wrong , I think immigration is good thing but opening the borders is too radical for me ).

I recently made a video on YouTube about the Labour conference ( a summary of key policies) and I would be grateful if you could watch the video and provide some feedback. I would also be grateful if you could share the video with anyone who is interested in politics and possible subscribe to my channel.

Heaven forbid they dont side with near enough half of the electorate...
Be our guest and leave though, i'm sure the swivel eyed loons whom comprise the brexit party will welcome you with open arms.

I would need a flow chart to outline why this is a load of crap.

It would be about as good an idea as electing Stalin.

They are not siding with near enough half the electorate though are they? Most moderate remain voters just want then to get on with it, the same as moderate leave voters like myself.

Second paragraph is Fair mind you it's the third paragraph why I replied. Can you explain you're poltical reason for this and your poltical beliefs. I already know you dont believe in equality of social class and are a passionate royalist. It's not for a poltical fight lets try and have a reasonable discussion without name call.
it would be a kindness to let this wretched party die. they have brought nothing but misery to this country.
I also feel the same, I dont understand why you blame labour for quote

an abolishment borders and make the UK a free for all for economic migrants and other migrants

But on brexit I agree in fact, I'd probably still be a member and canvassing if labour actually had the guts to pick on side or the other. We have took the kryptonite of the conservatives and some how made it ours.

Lets be honest there is literally not a shred of evidence to back up that claim one way or the other. the only solid evidence we have to go on is from the referendum which was, near enough, split in the middle. I have yet to come across any remainers who have changed their minds, i mean 'getting it over with' is one thing but that most certainly does not mean they support this endeavor. I mean i whole heartedly want it to be over with but im still firmly against it.

It would probably be easier to reply without 'name calling' if your replies werent so condescending. However, simply put, because of Corbyns views although i am quite fond of his foreign policy. It's his domestic policy that would involve the theft and collapse of the UK.
My beliefs though? Interesting question. I've asked myself this many times and to be honest there is no particular answer as it tends to vary based on the topic at hand suffice it to say, generally speaking I am a statist whose views oscilate between left and right. Although i take an exceptional dislike to that binary way of looking at things.

I'm not sure what you mean by me not believing in 'equality of the working classes' though? the only conversation i ever had with you on the matter i simply stated a hard fact that the middle and upper classes contribute vastly more to countries finances. Nevermind the fact we havent actually established a definition of 'working class' yet. If we mean those who are poor and idle? Then you'd be right in your assessment of my opinion. If however you simply mean those who engage in manual labour be it a builder, plumber or a steel worker then i have profound respect for them. Unfortunately, there are extremely few of what many would consider the traditional working classes left due to our lack of mines, manufacturing or industry.

Ones views on the royals? Meh I support them as much as the next person but i wouldnt exactly describe myself as a tub thumping zealot for them. I simply have great respect for Her Majesty, am amused my the Duke of Edinburgh and respect the institution as an integral part of the UK's history. I mean if you ask almost any foreigner about British history it will inevitably be something about our royal family.

Absolutely agree, it's all hearsay. I too to say I know of 3 remainer that would now vote leave and 1 leaver that would now vote remain. So people have changed their minds but it's literally both ways. I'm the same as you, I'm I just want it done I'm more worried about potential damage to society as and democracy, than i care about Brexit either way.

You need to rise above it then, soon as you start calling people "swivel eyed loons" it doesn't make people think, hey yea I'm a swivel eyed loon I must change to you're view point

How is he going to collapse the UK? Also the poor people are not necessarily I'd ok e, that's right wing retoric to ease the symphony and human compassion, it's very similar to the way we conditioned to sneer at the homeless, get a job, spunger, lazy etc. It's quite simply not true, many are victims of the financial industry quite simply the rug is pulled from under them and bang, they are on the streets. Our mines was very well paid and highly unionised and manufacturing was destroyed by thatcherite policies and membership of the EU did not help matters either. These working class jobs that you rightly point out have disappeared but been replaced by long hours low paid private sector non unionised jobs, which spreads working poverty and the poor.

You support our royals more than me  I'm too much of a socialist, I cannot accept a person is worth more than me and you on birth right alone.

Could I ask whom you vote for and why. I'm a labour man but unfortunately Brexit is getting in the way because their Brexit policy is undemocratic toxic and dangerous in my eyes.

The Labour Party is opposed to free speech. The LP does not support democracy. Tom Watson is the rotten apple in the Labour party among many rotten apples. I joined Labour in order to vote for Corbyn in beating, kicking out, the Blairites. But sadly we lack leadership for our country.
