Check ya boobs and check ya pecs

It's breast cancer awareness month this October and as I volunteer in a uni boob team for CoppaFeel! anyway it has me thinking a lot about spreading the word even further!

Here's some FAQs about checking yourself

How regularly should I be checking?
About once a month. Remembering to do it each month can be tricky, but if you text UBT NTU to 70500 CoppaFeel! will send you a free monthly reminder in the form of a cheeky text.

I have small boobs/am male/am young etc. Do I really need to check?
YES! It's important that everyone checks their bodies regularly. Cancer can happen to anyone at any time and it's important to get to know what is normal for your body.

How do I check?
You can do it in the shower, lying down, or in front a mirror. Choose what works for you! There's no right or wrong way to do this. Just take your hands and have a feel around, pressing with flat fingers works well! Make sure you go all the way up to your collarbones and into your armpits because there's breast tissue there too!

What are things I should get checked?
Persistent and unusual pain in breast or armpit
Lumps or thickening
Change in skin texture
Nipple discharge
A rash or crusting
Change in nipple direction, such as sudden inverting
Swelling in armpit or around collarbones
Change in size or shape that isn't normal for you

How common is breast cancer?
In the UK, 1 in 8 women will experience breast cancer in their lifetime and 400 men a year are diagnosed.

Something doesn't feel right. What should I do?
If something isn't normal for you or you're concerned about any changes of your body always get it checked out by a doctor. Early detection saves lives!

If in doubt, get it checked out ♥️

You're very welcome!
Definitely worthwhile! I found a lump in my breast earlier this year that I wouldn't have come across without actively checking. Luckily it turned out to be a cyst and was easily treated.

No. If it was cancer, you wouldn’t even know it was there. Painless. Not feeling any pain when you have a lump or not feeling sensation in your legs n that means PROBLEM than if you can feel the pain. If you get what i mean...

Ohhh, So with cancer, there'd be a lump but no pain or sensation. Thanks!
I felt a lump in my left boob, went to my gp who checked my boobs and referred me to the hospital to get it properly checked. They check with this machine, yea they look at your boobies but it’s okay😂 they see a lot of them. I had a male doctor at the hospital but it’s normal for them so you shouldn’t feel ashamed. Mine was nothing serious so all okay  (I don’t remember what I had but I think just a cyst?)
I am fortunately in the habit of checking them regularly.
Which I hasten to add is a good habit to be in.

I literally thought **** was stored in my ballsack untill age 10, I didn't know semen and pee came out different tubes until I was 15, I don't know anything about my genitals, I only know things from porn and that is bad lmao
