It depends how well you do as to how many questions you get for each- they are adaptive so depending how you progress it might last a long time, or end quickly.

Honestly I just think people were expecting themselves to score higher on the numerical test. I don’t think there are any glitches or screw-ups, just candidates in denial.

Bit harsh, I get what you're saying but if you've scored on the higher end on previous/similar applications then suddenly get a far lower score on a particular test it's not unreasonable to double check it to make there hasn't been a glitch as they do happen.

a) You're not supposed to be posting details of questions on here.
b) You're kinda missing the whole point of questions like this. They're not badly worded. They're worded to catch people (you?) out. So if you've not scored as well as you hoped, you probably didn't grasp the questions as well as others.
c) You do sound bitter.

I’m just starting my application today and I have just submitted part one of the application. Before I continue, the second section states I will need to provide supporting evidence. Is this asking for evidence/examples against the behaviours, strengths and ability before the on-line tests?

I don’t want to start the second section and not be prepared/have sufficient time.

Thanks

What does it say you need to provide supporting evidence of?

You're a barrel of laughs aren't you?
a) I haven't posted details of any questions, it's a numeracy test and I havent posted any figures
B) I like how you say it's worded to catch people out but have purposefully failed to respond with what you feel the right answer would be (as you clearly don't know either)
C) I'm not bitter at all, I'm relaxed about the whole situation. Can't change anything now anyway.

It’s ok, it was only asking for supporting of a Degree, but I’m a current civil servant. I have only had time to complete the Verbal reasoning and the questions were 9/10 the exact same as the tests I passed for this years compliance officer roles...

Don’t worry, the numerical one will be a bit more challenging!

I found that too. I put N/A for all those questions as I’m also an existing civil servant.

I’ve tried this for a few years and the SJT always knocks me out. I’ve got 72% this time so hopefully that’s enough.

When I got my results I was surprised as I always score better in maths than verbal reasoning but this time was the other way round.
Is the pass mark set for the overall average or for each of the three individual tests?

As far as I know you have to get a pass mark at all of the tests individually

Assuming it's the same as previous years, you need to meet the minimum requirement for each test individually. Then they will decide on a higher mark on the last test only to determine how many to take through to the next stage. The earlier tests only come into it if there's a tie break. So you can reach the minimum requirement (pass) all the tests but still not progress any further if you didn't score highly enough in the last one.

Yeah that’s how I understand it, summed up very neatly!
Hi,

Could you please confirm when interview dates will be set.

Hello,

This is my first post on StudentRoom and also my first time applying for the Tax Specialist Programme.

I've completed my Verbal Reasoning Test and scored 84%, however upon submitting my Numeric Reasoning Test I encountered an error message and my test was scored.

I then found my results in the Assessment Centre, advising that I had been unsuccessful, with this message:

"You scored better than0% of people who have previously taken this test. Unfortunately, this means that your overall performance on this test was below the minimum required standard for the grade you have applied for, so we will not be proceeding with your application."

I've sent the Recruitment Team an email querying this as I believe I had done quite well on the test.

Has anyone encountered anything similar to this?

I study Accounting and Finance at university and am on track for a 1st class degree, so I do not believe the results of the numeric part could be correct.

Thanks,

Mark

You would need to check this with the recruitment team for confirmation.

Hi Mark,

The team are usually great at responding so I'm sure if you had a tech error then they will reset the test for you. I've heard of it happening before (not to me) and it was sorted for the candidate.

All the best with your application.

Hey don’t worry! They haven’t set the Upper pass marks yet and you might well have made it! Your verbal is excellent and your SJT is by no means a bad score!
