Great picture: non-Jewish Britons are teaching the British Jews how they should understand antisemitism.
Good luck.

The notion that only members of "Group X" can comment on or decide what is reasonable or acceptable behaviour in the context of Group X is obvious nonsense.

Criticism of Israel and support for the rights of Palestinians is not, never has been and never will be "anti-semitism", no matter how much some people may claim it should be. It is no different to people claiming that criticism of Islamic ideology should be outlawed as "Islamophobia". It is merely a transparent attempt to shut down legitimate debate.
Obviously, anyone guilty of genuine anti-semitism, which includes any prejudice or attack on Jews because off their ethnicity, should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. However, criticising people who behave unacceptably cannot be censured merely because they happen to be Jewish.

We also shouldnt forget Mr Admonit's view that absolutely any negative comment, critique, attack on Israel somehow constitutes a 'racist' and 'antisemitic' act. This is, ironically enough, at the same time he makes unequivocally racist comments about Palestinians. Irony abounds in droves for this user.

If many Britons think like you (and I think this is the case), the British Jews are in trouble. The problem is not possible election of antisemitic Corbyn. The main point: if the British Jews and their children have a future in their country. Once those who "happen to be Jewish" realize, that they are considered not as integral part of the British society, but rather unwelcome guests, they will start leaving the kingdom.

You are talking nonsense. British Jews are just as integral a part of British society as British Christians, Muslims, Sikhs, Scientologists, Pastafarians and atheists. However, it is true that there are members of all groups who think the world is against them and they are being treated unfairly by the rest of society - due to a combination of paranoia and an unwarranted sense of entitlement. (Note: this is not the same as those members of minorities who are subject to genuine prejudice and discrimination).

An interesting article well worth a read.
Although the bit where one person compared modern day Britain to 1941's Austria comes across as an egregious case of hyperbole bordering on an outright lie.

This is from the Spectator, I’d take it with a pinch of salt.
Non Jews telling Jews what antisemitism is. The irony.

You dont speak for the jewish people nor are you a religious jew. It is a well known fact the labour party is incredibly antisemitic and its absurd to say he himself isnt antisemitic when hes retweeted numerous antisemitic images and refered to hamas as friends. The labour party is a safe haven for antisemitism and when ever a labour MP has made antisemitic remarks your trashy commie leader has done absolutely nothing to condemn them.

I actually enjoy your posts but this is ridiculous. A jew cant even walk down the road with a yarmulke without getting a load of stares but a muslim woman with a veil would barely get any stares.

Do you actually think jews havent been subjected to discrimination?

No, it isn't "a well known fact". There are undoubtedly people within the Labour Party membership who are genuinely anti-semitic, as well holding other similarly objectionable views, but it has yet to be shown that the PLP or Corbyn are in any way anti-semitic (ie. prejudiced against Jews because of their ethnicity). However, if you include being an ardent critic of Israeli policy, or a supporter of Palestinian rights as "anti-semitic", that's a different issue and I can't help you with that. No one can.

and its absurd to say he himself isnt antisemitic when hes retweeted numerous antisemitic images

Like what?

and refered to hamas as friends.

Supporting Palestine's struggle against oppressive Israeli occupation is not "anti-semitism" you dimwit!

Really? You are saying that Jews are subjected to more casual racism on the streets than Asian Muslim women? Are you high?

I never said anything about Corbyn or the Labour Party in my previous post. I also never said that I speak for British Jews.

Corbyn is not an antisemite and I think this idea that he is one is a bit OTT to me. I have had anti-semitic attacks aimed at me but these have come from right wing people and never anyone from the Labour Party.

Yes. Many. Have you ever been to North London?

I live in north london
I think you need to change your way of debating when it comes to the jewish people. You're so used to criticising islam that you apply the same approach to israel and jews but its not the same since Jewishness isnt a belief we are a people, an ethnoreligion.

Have you ever meant a Jewish men who choose to show their religion they got abuse mainly by Muslims including Asian Muslim women every time they go to the local high street. I do a fitness class at the local Jewish centre and a spoke to some Jewish people including Pakistian Jews/Jews from mainly Muslim countries which once had large Jewish populations now do not even have one working temple.

Islam has nothing to do with race in London were I live their middle class white women convent choosing to wear niqab and very few Asian Muslim women. Islam is fastest growing religion with white British middle class university educated women.

Why is it every time he has spoken of Israel it is silly remarks? I think you're a self hating jew or a jew in name only because i live in north london and barely anybody here supports corbyn and they have every right not to do so.

You're also silly because if you were a Jew you would know that the far right and far left are two sides of the same coin. Don't you dare try and say jews arent attacked by blacks & muslims. You dont speak for jews.

Again, I never said that I did. You are putting out silly claims. North London has a group of Jews, so does Manchester and other places. Because you know a group that does not like Corbyn or the Labour Party in NL does not mean that we are all the same. We can and should be allowed to have different opinion. I see peaceful and progressive non-Jews as allies and friends. To blast the entire Labour Party for actions of a very tiny minority is unfair and can come back to harm us, when we lose our allies.

My girlfriend, who is also Jewish btw, has family in North London and she nor her family share the same feelings toward Corbyn like you do. Yes, we are fearful of the attacks and sentiments, but it is OTT to claim that Labour or Corbyn are antisemites.

I wont respond to your self-hating comment because I feel it is ridiculous to think such of someone who has a different opinion to you.

How have i put out silly claims? Of course jewish people think differently which is why i said its wrong to say this article is nonsense.

I never did that. I said that we should take it with a pinch of salt. It made generalisations of British Jews, when I am and I know people who don't share such views about the Labour Party.

I am not in the business of making unnecessary enemies and I fear that some people are trying to do so with the Labour Party. We need allies not enemies.
Original post by ems9999
No it didn't. You're trying to impose your communist values and you're making it out as if the jewish people haven't been upset by the labour party. I never said anywhere that jews don't support the labour party I said many jews have found the labour parties actions appalling recently.

So now you're saying Jews are making the labour party an enemy and really shouldn't do so despite their appalling actions? are you absolute kidding yourself?

You're a typical self hating Jew who probably has a shikse girlfriend and thinks you're still jewish despite your mother not being a Jew. Facts don't care your feelings so stop trying to impose your socialist agenda.

Wow, why do you need to have such comments. Just because I support the Labour Party and Jeremy Corbyn does not mean that you should go on a full attack.

Yes, there are some Jewish people upset about the Labour Party and I agree with that. I just don't agree that all Jews share the same opinion or that anti-semitism by some Labour supporters started during Corbyn’s leadership. The OP’s article even confirmed that there was anti-semitism in parts of the Party during Miliband’s time and he, too, is Jewish.

You can attack me for being socialist but please focus on me and my politics.
