Does age gap matter in paying for dates?

So seeing my sweet man and i wanna clarify something....

If I'm dating a man accomplish twice my age, should make an effort to pay half my bill?

I tried the last time we were out and he seemed offended.....

But don't wanna look like a gold digger at the same time...he's rich also (millonaire) and im a poor student got £6 in my bank account currently living on credit....

Advice...
I only ever date older guys.
Some embrace a traditionalist attitude that was prevalent in earlier generations of british society.
About things like opening the door for a woman, paying for dates and asking women out/proposing to their gf.
They are not keen on what they perceive as role reversal of the traditions they live by or allowing a gf/female friend to pay for their food&drinks.
Whoever invited the other should be the one to pay.
You should be willing to pay regardless of circumstance. If the other person insists on paying that's fine - but making no effort at all reflects badly on you.
