Did you watch the Bojo vs Corbyn debate last night? If that's anything to go by, then the tories are an absolute shambles!

Agreed. And Labour are shambles with wonky glasses.

It's very unlikely that Labour will win but that doesn't necessarily mean the Tories will.

The SNP will probably take at least half of the 13 seats currently held by the Tories in Scotland. They will lose similar amounts to the Lib Dems in the south of England. The decision by the Brexit Party to field candidates in non-Tory seats will make it significantly harder for the Tories to take seats off Labour.

So the chances of Labour winning? Negligible. The chances of the Conservatives winning (a majority)? Not as high as it seems.

And what would happen if the conservatives don't get a majority?
Am I the only one who actually thought Corbyn completely flunked the ITV debate and Boris actually said some rational stuff?

Corbyn bumbling on about irrelevancies, blaming “austerity for the last 9 years” as THE cause for everything under the sun, and then just not admitting his stance on Brexit or Scotland. Corbyn obviously doesn’t want to be PM - it was clear of this in the debate, but his opposition, big Bojo, is also a bumbling baffoon.

Boris wasn’t good either, and the way he kept referring to Brexit instead of answering the actual question at hand (something that all politicians are inept at) became very boring, but he’s sort of right... The economy is becoming stagnant. This is not because of Brexit itself, it’s because of the uncertainity surrounding the country as a whole.

The catchphrase ‘Get Brexit Done’ does actually have a lot more sense to it than meets the eye. Just doesn’t help when the one advertising it is as incompetent as the lot of them.

Johnson, Corbyn, Sturgeon, Swinson etc... - is this the worst bunch we have seen?

And what would happen if the conservatives don't get a majority?

It depends on the breakdown of the Commons.

If Labour + SNP is enough to have a majority in the Commons, then it will be a Labour minority government backed up by the SNP (like we have now with the Tories and DUP).

But if neither Labour + SNP, nor the Conservatives get a majority, then one of them will form a minority government, but won't be able to get anything done unless the Lib Dems vote for it - which they have made it clear they will decide on a case by case basis.

Well the Lib Dems and DUP wouldn’t touch them again with a barge pole after the two recent coalitions. I personally believe the Tories will win outright, by a good 10/20 votes, as the opinion polls are always more ‘Labour-biased’ (when I say biased, I mean naturally, not fixed).

But the only ‘rational’ thing the Tories could hope for is they don’t win an outright majority is to just hope and pray that the Brexit Party have a couple of seats that may bridge the gap to get to 326 seats.

Scrap the lot of them.

Yeah but it always seems like Labour is going to win and then the tories do. Almost like its a fix

Labour supporters are the ones who fix elections, not conservatives

Old article, but it's still relevent today: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1487145/Labour-activists-had-vote-rigging-factory-to-hijack-postal-votes.html

One problem is postal voting. It should be removed. Anyone who wants to vote should have to get up and vote in person with ID, unless they can prove that they are too ill to do so. Also people overseas should definitely not get to vote

Glad someone else noticed! I was thinking Corbyn had wonky eyes 😂

I really want Labour to win. I just feel it all the time people are always screaming on the social media and I always think Labour are going to win then the tories win😭😭

They probably will. Its because they have the right wing media on their side which has a massive readership. Notably when they wanted to remain in the EU they didn't have the right wing media on their side. Shockingly they lost.

The biggest media coverage in the UK is the BBC who are completely anti Tory and anti Brexit as are The Mirror and The Guardian.

The Daily mail and the Sun are the biggest readership though. And none of those organisations are pro-corbyn. Its now repeated as fact even in the guardian that Jeremy corbyn and Labour are anti-Semitic for instance. Despite the fact that there isn't a shred of evidence for that.

He shared an anti-Semitic mural on Facebook. You don't accidentally just do that.

Did he? When? You also dont accidentally wander into a passover meal and take part in Jewish prayers. You definitely don't if you're an anti-semite. You could argue he's anti-israel.But that's a different thing to being anti-jewish and Israel have done a lot of things recently fully worthy of criticism tbh.

The Conservative Party's track record of failure, ineptitude and poor leadership should see them kicked out of office.

Sadly the best thing the Conservatives have going for them is Jeremy Corbyn.

In relatively recent history you can unfortunately say the same about the labour party, certainly if you look back over the last 50 years or so.

If the Guardian are saying it too as well as the 9 MPs who resigned the Labour party then it's pretty damning. Try searching the internet and you will find plenty of evidence - try Zarah Sultana first.
Well "win again" is pushing it - they didn't get a majority on their own last time, and I don't think they will this time either.
Leaping Lucy answered this perfectly...

If you get your view from social media than your getting the views of those who use social media (younger people, a lot of journalists/activists, urban types etc) what your not getting on social media is the vast amount of people who are not on there.. who tend to be older, more rural, less tech-savy, who also are far far more likely to vote tory.

Equally if your an OAP who only reads the Daily mail, your not going to get a great balanced view either.
The conservatives are going to win again because the polls say they will it is as simple as that.

People say the polls are always wrong look at trump and brexit failing to realise they have a margin of error in them of 4% as a caveat.

Labour are polling high 20’s/low30’s

Conservatives are polling 43/44 the margin at present is too big for anything other than a win and now it is just will it be a majority and if so by how much.

The conservatives will be the next government no matter what.

1) Mear One - google it.
2) That is literally the same as ”I'm not an anti-Semite, some of my friends are Jews”
