Near Stockport is Liverpool so University of Liverpool (you need an hour to go to Liverpool), near Stockport is Birmingham so choose University of Birmingham (you need an hour and 34 minutes from Stockport to go to Birmingham), near Stockport is Leeds so choose University of Leeds (you need an hour and 17 minutes to 34 minutes).
So..as I said:
1) University of Liverpool (is 35 miles to Liverpool-From Stockport) 2)University of Leeds (is 36 miles to Leeds-from Stockport) 3)University of Birmingham (is 65 miles to Birmingham-from Stockport)

What about foundation years for both Manchester and Sheffield. Which ones are really close and could give me proper degree too I probs have to choose foundation year for Man Uni and Sheffield

yes I think it would be much better if you do a foundation course. However, I don't know their entry requirements for foundation courses. You should email the universities and ask.
If you see that you don't have the entry requirements for Sheffield or Manchester ask them what foundation courses do they accept, go to one of those unis and after go to Manchester or Sheffield. (You can change unis after your foundation course, that it's why you should ask what foundation courses do they accept)

I think I have the entry requirements for only the foundation courses for Manchester and Sheffield. They both do foundations courses but I don't think I have the predicted grades needed for proper degree. I searched it up in the UCAS website and it shows it

Honestly, work tour socks off in A2 try to get 3As or A*AA and apply through clearing to other unis which have higher requirements.
With that attitude you won't do well in your degree. Chem eng is really hard and you need a lot of passion to be successful in it and dont put yourself down because of your grades which aren't even that bad.
