Don't go on a date if you can't afford it. It's nice when a guy offers to pay but it shouldn't be an expectation.

I already said yes to the date. I don't think he'd like me backing out
Offer to split it
Maybe suggest going somewhere that’s actually affordable ? Maybe even Nando’s or something lol

Then what's your plan if he doesn't offer to pay for you?

You should reschedule for after you next get paid.
Suggest you go somewhere cheaper so if need be, you can pay.

You’ll look incredibly bad if it comes to paying, he suggests splitting and you can’t actually afford it. Shows you assumed he’s paying for the entire date.

Don’t be a cheap arse, go in expecting to have to pay your share.

If you can’t afford it, go somewhere cheaper.

If I went on a date with a girl and she assumed I was paying, I’d be a bit taken back.

I’d most likely be paying it all myself but the fact they assumed is very off putting.

To clarify: you have no money, you want him to take you "somewhere fancy", and you expect that he'll pay (and have no plan B given your unwillingness/inability to pay your own share)?

Are you looking for a free meal or to get to know the guy?

To know him of course. I like him he's special to my hea6
it depends, did he ask you out on the date or did you?

I think whoever asked the other out on a date should pay for it.

Question is, does he think that too? I wouldn't risk it; I'd let him know I was skint ahead of time.
