Which song/music has had a profound effect on your life?

Anything in particular that gives you the feels or goosebumps, maybe motivates you?
I'd say for me personally orchestrated music from films I find really deep. Examples of composers are John William's and Hans Zimmer.

I don't know if anyone's music has had what I'd call a 'profound impact' on my life, but my existence would certainly have had less joy in it had I never watched that porn video which had 'Wolf Moon' by Type O Negative playing in the background and ended up never listening to hands down my all time favourite band.
Tool for sure. They've definitely aided me on my spiritual journey and path to spiritual awakening
i have a lot but the top would be popular monster. its literally me in a song

LOOL fair enough
Lewis capaldi
No music has had a profound impact but The Funeral by Band of Horses always gets me.

If I need motivation I typically listen to something heavier like Gesaffelstein or the DOOM soundtrack.
At my job which is very physical the management plays aggressive rap to amp us up and to keep the attention spans of us degenerates working overnight.

But one day...Billie Eilish Everything I Wanted came on and like a mermaid under the water I was lured to the song. This feeling swept over me like I was there but not there. I felt so calm and wanted to know what song it was. Downloaded and listened to nothing else two days straight and suddenly felt immensely suicidal and started either auto raging at ppl or shutting everyone out..

That song is dangerous. I decided not to listen to it anymore. And will remove it from my phone. While I admit it's different, and can evoke emotions that no other song has ever done for me, I think it's incredibly toxic. Nothing needs to be that sad. Especially since the song is practically fiction.

Nick Drake has so many great ones that just centre my mind and existence.
The Greatest Love of All by George Benson (or Whitney Houston) is a real powerful one! There's a reason its the theme to Muhammed Ali's biopic!

These songs always re calibrate me, heal the past and present and just bring a sense of optimism and real joy, lasting joy, not the type that finishes when the song does.
'Show Yourself' from Frozen II   :moon: I felt like that whole movie was about me, ngl

The goosebumps thing happens pretty often, so I couldn't write them all down.

I'm not sure what constitutes a 'profound effect'
The music of Thomas Newman from American Beauty.
Holst's Planets Suites.
Brian Wilson's Smile
The Beatles, particularly Abbey Road and Magical Mystery Tour. More recently, parts of The White Album, especially Mother Nature's Son.
The Doors.
REM- particularly the supposedly less profound stuff like Monster.
Spin Doctors- honestly, listen to Pocketful of Kryptonite. They can really play and can really write heartfelt 60s/70s style jams too.
Radiohead's Kid A.
Love and Affection - Joan Armatrading
Sexual Healing - Marvin Gaye
With Every Heartbeat - Robyn
Kate Nash's Made of Bricks
Kate Bush
Tori Amos's Little Earthquakes album

I don't have any that I would say had a 'profound' change on my life.

Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah always gives me goosebumps.

You'll probably laugh at me for this one too, but 'Work B****' by Britney Spears I happen to find very motivational. :colondollar:

Playboi Carti - Long Time
Frank Ocean - Nights

I find both these songs pretty deep everytime I listen to them.
