Survey on Anxiety and Mobile phones

Dear all,

I'm trying to collect data on a study on anxiety and mobile phone use

It should take no more than 25 min to complete:

It's a good survey, but the question "How do you feel when your mobile phone has no minutes, battery charge, or is out of range?" only has negative answers (anxious, afraid, agitated, distressed, disoriented), with no neutral option, which you may want to change. good luck with your research!

Disagree.
Because mobile phones lead to depression which is what he may be conveying here.

Any academic source on mobile phones definitively leading to depression would be useful.
If this research is for something like a dissertation (which considering the season, it most likely is) only having negative options for a question is really pathetic for lack of a better term. At any level of study one should understand that having leading questions which assume a predecided conclusion by the researcher shows a bad questionnaire.
This research is to see if there is a link between Anxiety and Mobile phones, so I would expect all possibilities to be explored, not be assumed so the researcher can get a nice report which doesn't make them question anything about their topic at hand.
I know that if my phone is low or if the battery dies I do personally get nervous, but this is because i've had an anxiety disorder since before I had a phone. I've had it since I was a child. I fail to see how mobile phones gave me anxiety when it first showed at the age of 3 in 2002.
That's just bad researching.
Done
And agree with the above. Some questions need neutral and positive responses.
Sometimes it’s very liberating!

God forbid someone disagrees with you I guess.
Anyway OP it would be extremely beneficial for your questionnaire if you could revise it in some form, but since it's already out you probably already got ethical clearance and are probably stuck with what you have. Just make sure you account for potential flaws in your analysis and take it from there.

thanks for backing me up there

In all honesty i'm surprised anyone could disagree with what you said.
Only having negative options for an answer to a question is just bad questionnaire design, and i'd be surprised that it got fully passed and cleared with that fact in mind. You were correct to say what you did!

I did too. Sometimes not having a phone is very liberating!
